    With all the flaws that you have outlined and the photos I can see this getting a 4.0 as a safe, solid grade, with a slim possibility of a 4.5. You are right about the missing pieces being caused by insects.

    According to D84's experience they cleaned everything. He admits he should have requested they leave it.

    Bob has already referenced the pencil marks, and I agree they should be left. Here's a link to a Batman #9 sent in by fellow boardie D84. First post is the comic before cleaning, if you read through you'll find the finished result. The decision really is yours to make. Just include a note to the effect they should be left

    Hockney's quite a character, and has done some interesting documentaries on the history of art. His own style is very crisp and quite clinical when doing interiors.

    It may just be the camera lens picked up a couple of specks of dust and that's what I'm seeing. I am viewing on full magnification and as we know that has a tendency to exaggerate things. It's a nice book.

    More than likely, but I can remember in the Green Eggs Grading competition this, Granted this is the back cover but I've allowed for that in the grading of the front cover on Hulk 3. The Spidey in addition has a large chunk out. I hope @thirdgreenham doesn't mind me using this?( I'll remove if you wish it). Here he is revealing the results for one of the rounds, scroll to the 2 minute mark for the reveal on the 2nd book.
