  1. Yes I was talking about Slayor as well. I bought a bunch from him about a year ago, and was checking back to see if he had more that were high on my list. Never bought from Qualitycomix. I have picked off at least half dozen of $GEMs books from Heritage. How far along are the Heritage offerings Glen?
  2. Nice Tiny Tim 235 that is a book I am still missing ( got my copy of First Series 20 over a decade ago) I believe that we have the same ebay sellor in comon. I did a fairly large transaction with him early in the year, and filled some major holes, but as you mention they were not inexpensive. Working with him on another batch, but sadly most of what I need are also among the Not Ready For Prime TIme issues. I have a bunch of books going up on Heritage during November. Hopefully thet will do well so I can afford to buy more of 4GEMs gems like the #37 that I snagged last month
  3. Heritage now has images up of the 13 books I consigned. They broke them up into two different auctions, both in November Hopefully the links below work Items I'm Selling (ha.com) Items I'm Selling (ha.com) Hopefully these go for a good chunk of change so I can pay off the advance HA gave me, give more to my wife and still have enough left over to justify putting more into the FOUR COLOR portioin of my collection
  4. Finally found it. I do need to combine all of the partial folders to make it easier to search
  5. Alan Ladd Jr was a studio executive as well as the Husband of Cheryl Ladd of Charlie's Angels Fame. He was also the Boss of my cousin for about 30 years.
  6. nice copy of a key book. My most recent one page want list shows me that I would be happy to upgrade my 2.0 copy. Prior to my cataract surgery I had to develope an oversized presentation so I could actually read the list. had to sacrifice grade and most of the title in order to have 12 columns of 29 issues instead of 6 at 58 out of my 348 want list only 73 are actually missing. To fill out the available 275 slots for upgrades I have now placed any book where my copy is 3.0 or lower unless I actually paid over $38 for it I have a #37 coming so that will bring me down to only missing 8 of the first 200 issues
  7. The three PGX graded books just came back in new CGC holders . All came back with the same grade, and will make it into the same signature series auction in mid June. i will miss having multiples of some keys, especially the Adventure 247. My first grail
  8. the decades channel is having a Our Miss Brooks Marathon They choose a different OLD show to focus on each week. Was Adventures of Superman a few weeks back I will find the four color issue and post
  9. I just recieved a schedule that 10 of these items will be in the 11/17-11/18 Signature Series Auction If anyone from here wins one of the listings I will send you a gift of 1/2 the price of the sellers premium For example if the Adventure 247 hammers for $2,000 and you pay 2,400 , I will send you a gift box worth at least $200
  10. Wow back then I only had one of the first 13 of the first series the below is from my OLD sheets that I got from the bag man. This must have been the last time I work with this method before beginning the excel version. I still have a notebook with each dc and marvel title I collected tracked this way Also included is my first WANT?upgrade list that I had to track and format manually
  11. I was commenting to my wife that the first season was B&W while the third season from 1955, the year I was born, were already in color
  12. A scan of a much older version of my HAVE spreadsheet. This was from 2012 and I was already ( or only) up to having 750 issues. I am currently at 1276 issues and each column has 91 or more issues I had to develop something like this just to manage my haves and needs I had already started using the graphic of BOLD for hign grade keepers While I used italics for very low UPGRADABLES I had not yet moved the FIrst Series issues from the bottom of the page to their current spot of 1371-1395 an otherwise unysed section of the final column
  13. A relatively new Oldies TV channel called Decades is running a marathon of the B&W Adventures of Superman from 1952 with George Reeves and Phyllis Coates I saw those in Reruns when I was a child in in the early 60's
  14. Here are the Missing Four Colors that I picked up . I have to Work these into my spreadsheet again. I spent a bit of time on that project, but forgot to save it, and lost the upgrades. Have not wanted to try again. I think I now have well over 1/2 of these issues
  15. finally updated my thank you list which recognizes where each book in my collection came from. Working towards having BOLD for every books that is either Graded or high grade. Will probably also have italics for all 200 books that could use an upgrade. I do not think I have published this in a few years
  16. I went the opposite way. I have been focusing on higher grades for the later issues and mainly focusing on anything acceptable in the under 200 categories. As such I only need 8 issues below 100 and only missing 110 from that range More recent additions during the Pandemic years
  17. It has been quite a project to try and collect all of the four colors, especially through trading. In the early days of the quest I would take most any condition in a trade as long as it filled a hole. At least a Place Holder AS i brought the missing issues to under 100 I added maybe 200 hundred books (2.5 or below) to the want to upgrade section. Now the missing books is closer to 60 and I upgraded nearly 100 of my worst copies so I added quite a few more by raising the upgrade level to 3.0
