I am taking the national licensure exam for Psychology later this month and have been studying up. One area is privilege/discrimination. There are 9 areas of privilege identified (Age, Disability, Religion, Ethnicity, SES, Sexual Identity, Non-Indigenous person, residing in native country, and gender) and I have all of them! I tease the coven (wifey and my two daughters) that I hold all the cards! You cannot beat me, I win before the game even starts!

But basically you don't get to complain if you hold all the good cards. You have to listen and try to understand that others want to play the game as well despite being dealt a lesser hand. Or put another way, try to step outside yourself and have some empathy.

Perhaps I use Simpson's quotes too often, but there's just too dang many...

I think 76 now. I saw an article online stating that she was going to retire, and also another article stating that she was the highest paid TV personality at 47 million a year salary.

Edit: just read that the 47 million was from 2013, in 2017 she made $147 million.

:whatthe:  And apparently only works 52 days per year

Grader notes are free to the submitter?  I submitted my first books to CGC and got them back last week. On the My Submissions page I don’t have any notes. Am I looking in the wrong place?

If there are any notes, there will be a hyper link in the "Grader Notes" column after you click the "Invoice No." on  the "My Submissions" page.  Most 9.6 and higher grades may not have any notes, but I believe most under that grade will.

Yes, but you made the claim that nobody has heard of Spider Gwen outside of the comics community, which is true. Irrespective of the value of this particular variant, it's also true that nobody ever heard of Groot, RR, or Star Lord outside the comics community, either, but I guarantee you...under the right circumstances, people would be paying $2k for something featuring those guys, a week after they came out. I'm not disagreeing with you, but if the criteria is "no one's ever heard of Spider Gwen, and probably never will"...I don't think that's a valid angle to look at it from. While that's true NOW...it may not be true TOMORROW, or at some point in the future.

Based on the amount of merchandising (even mainstream) that is out there for Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider, I think her name is somewhat out there, even for non-comic book people.  However, I'm at a loss as to the cuckoo bananas prices on this variant.

I posted in another thread earlier this summer, but I had to buy this for my daughter (who admittedly is at least interested in comics).

The comic dealers I talked too all had great sales. I have done every ACCC and have increased sales every year. There were not a lot of comic dealers in the room but there were great books everywhere.  I did not hear any negative comments and the crowd was thick on Saturday.  I will be back. Key books, Run collectors (esp Spawn 150 -200), Guest related( I could have sold 20 + Little Mermaid comics if I had more) led sales. Good dollar books around etc...... My only wish is that they get more comic related guests next year and I hope the dismissive response from a rep I asked "Comic guests don't sell tickets" was only him talking out of his ***.

Were you the one I bought ASM 299 from? I should have picked up the little mermaid when I had the chance...

Alamo City was organized well I thought. I got Zabka's autograph and had to wait about 30-45min only and some of that was just waiting for him to show up (he was super nice by the way). I did see Julie Benson's line (little mermaid) and it looked like about an hour or so wait. I wish I had waited until this con to get her autograph for my daughter. I waited 3 hours at FXD. :(

I was really hoping to get a J Benson pic/autograph with my daughter, who is named Ariel.  But I don't think she was there on Friday :( Maybe next time...

  7. We went yesterday when it opened at 3pm.  The line basically almost wrapped around the Alamodome (football size arena) to get in.  However, once inside, it didn't feel too crowded (I'm guessing today will be packed).  I did overhear one dealer say around 6pm or so that he had already doubled his take from a recent Dallas show.  He had a lot of nice books :)

I was there about 5 hours and wish I could make it back today or tomorrow. I will post a couple pics, but there just more crowd type shots
