  1. Hey there Flash Fans! It's been a minute but after we hit 175 and kinda agreed it was the end of an era for Flash, where do we go from here? I'm open to suggestions. I love this thread and after being on the Silver age font page for more than a year, its kinda sad to see us on page two I've kinda decided to let one of you take the reins for a bit and see where it goes! I'll follow you Flans fans anywhere! I've learned so much from you all and I know there's more to learn. So waddya think? Oh and FYI over on my contest page, i'm down to just 6 issues now to complete the entire run 1959-1985!!! (its too late to enter the contest but we are still having Flash fun over there, and you're welcome to join in, commenting, joking and posting memes and gyphs.) Looking forward to the future of the Flash thread! Lets hop on that cosmic tread mill and see where it takes us! Contest to pick the last issue of Flash Comics that is obtained by Flashlights
  2. This just in! Flash 281! And now I'm down to just 6 issues left to complete the entire run!
  3. This just in #275!!! Now its down to just the lucky 7! Just 7 books left to complete the run!!!
  4. The first 4 I have owned before in previous collections. The last 4 I have never owned before. Which one will be the next one??? Is anyone old enough to remember this goofy show?
  5. More to come in the next 2 weeks Flash fans!!! Stay tuned! Sorry for the delay...
  6. Wow!!! 10K for a Sups 199!!?? And I thought maybe I'd be able to get one one day . I'm old enough to remember when Action Comics #1 hit the 10 grand mark, I'm sure some of you are too? Was it 1975, 1978? I was just a kid but buying OPG each year. And I believe Marvel Mystery #1 hit 10K about the same time it seems.
  7. Very nice Jaylam!!! Some say Superman looks like Jay Leno on this cover . I will need to replace my copy with something nicer eventually. Do you also have a Superman 199?
  8. I have taken a break from grading for months, since the end of the last March Madness contest. So I'm a bit rusty but here goes - I think the highest grade it could get would be a 4.5 going by the grading guide, but for me with the little tears on the leading edge and taking into consideration everything else I would grade it at 3.5. maybe a 4.0. Very nice key book to have in any condition though! (I'm jealous) Thanks for sharing!
  9. Here's my other favorite store. Jax and I stopped by there yesterday: Dragons Lair! Every week Dragons Lair hosts "Comic Book Club" A wonderful two hour discussion about what we are currently reading and sometimes a little 'comic book history lesson' from yours truly. I love this store because of this. It was once an in person meeting but since the lock down we've continued virtually on Zoom. Although they only sell new comics and related merchandise, this weekly meeting, promoting the hobby and giving a time and place for new and old enthusiasts to gather and discuss makes this store very important to San Antonio!
  10. In Texas we tend to go BIG so here is my favorite store in San Antonio Heroes and Fantasies, its probably 10-20,000 square feet! I will do my best to cover some of the stores in this great state but I will put a call out to other Texans to share their favorite stores too. Heroes and Fantasies has a huge selection and a great knowledgeable and friendly staff. I've been shopping here for about 10 years. They do everything BIG from toys and statues to gaming, copper, silver, gold and modern age comics, graphic novels, PoPs, t-shirts and more. The tall wooden shelves are new and are full of graphic novels and statues. There is so much here and I only took a few photos. The vintage toy section is amazing and it runs the length of the store on one wall and my son Jackson found at Nightwing action figure that we picked up today! The new toy section is huge as well and runs the length of the store on the opposite side. The Comic wall is huge and use to contain many key gold and silver books but many were sold off on Ebay during the shut down, Still lots of good stuff up there. Each month Erica takes a section of the back wall to highlight some books and picks out a theme. This month its Halloween and she has vintage Monster Magazines displayed. I picked one out. In February it was Romance comics and I actually found a few for EP there! All those boxes under the wall are full of Silver and Golden age books! Its hard to tell for this photo, but that's a life size Silver Surfer up there! (Check out the TOD mags there Wes! I may have to pick up a few of those next time)
