  2. Very nice Terry! You simply must introduce us to your friends some time!
  3. Fun fact about Flashlites : every time I hear someone say "Adamantium" I hear only the first part "Adam Ant" and my mind drifts back into a 1980's time loop for a few seconds
  4. Already know which issue I'm going to buy first, It will be on its way to me by Monday 8/17. This could end up being a whole side bar thing!? Which is the first issue I'll buy or the next issue ?
  5. The contest starts in just about 5 days Flash Fans! Its the final countdown!
  6. 7 posts left before we move on to 168 (Great GL cover!) coming towards the end of the checkered tops!
  7. How about we try something new to fill up the rest of this page while we wait to get to 168? Show us your Flash t-shirts! Ya know when I was a lad in the 70's, Flash got no respect! There were no Flash lunch pails, no Flash Mego dolls to play with ... (action figures hadn't really been invented yet, they were called dolls back then ). Sure I had Batman, Superman and even Aquaman, but there was no Flash! Later in the 1980's and 90's when the comic shops got going, you could find all the Batman and Superman T-shirts you could want. And once in a great while you'd come across a Flash T-shirt! It was your standard red w/lightening bolt, but hey I bought one. Meanwhile you could get 50 different types of Batman T-shirts! Finally in the last 10 years or so we Flash fans finally have a variety to choose from! Now I own several, heck you can even find them at Wal-Mart! So I will pull some out later, but lets see what you got!
  8. Any more 167's out there? Come on Flash Fans post 'em if you got 'em
  9. Gotta love Gardner Fox he's been with Flash since the Golden Age but then again so has Broome and Infantino. But Gardner goes all the way back to the very beginning. Great Stuff! I guess John was busy writing something else? Either that or Julie decided to give his old pal a little work?
  10. I've added some things to the prize package which will end up being kinda like a mystery box for the winner. Here's one of the items, an unopened DC 4-pack with Batman #50 in it! Who knows what else is inside? I will be deciding soon which gift card to get for the prize package ...will it be VISA, Amazon or ebay? Stay tuned Flash Fans!
  11. Julie must have been a great guy. He didn't mind Carmine picking on him. Shows strong character and humility. I'm sure he must have laughed right along with him.
  12. And that is it Flash Fans for page 166....Git yr 167's dusted off and ready. Come on an' dig through those long boxes, git those scanners warmed up and ready, were 'bout to turn the page!
  13. I love MCS, I've spent a lot of money there over the years. 2/3rds of my Flash collection I'd be willing to bet is from MCS. So last month in their Flash listings there were several advertised as Fantucchio's. They were not keys or high dollar books but hey there was this one that I needed and it said from the Fantucchio collection. It was not priced any different, I'd have paid a little more if it was, but it was priced like any other in that grade and they had about 6 different copies of this book. So I choose the Fantucchio. But when it came in there was no certificate. I emailed them, they got back to me in about a week and said, no. They bought the lot I guess at auction and these average books will not have any documentation with them. I replied that maybe they could just add a line on the invoice? I wanted to buy more, but they never responded to that inquiry. They must have dozens of these raw books listed across all titles. Now when you see them it says "does not come with certificate" or something to that effect. So at least they changed that part. But what about the history? The provenance? I sort of obsess over that kind of stuff. I guess it comes with being a collector as for these books though well....when I archived it I have it noted. And there it is Flash Fans! The only pedigree book in my collection!
  14. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. I hear the angels singing!
  15. Very nice!!! I love the pedigree tag! I wish MCS would have included something like that with my Fantucchio Flash I purchased a few months back. But since it was not encapsulated I got no documentation
  16. Great caricatures there by Carmine! I love the names John gave them and how Carmine matched their personalities to their names.
  17. I did not know it was still around? I remember they would sell 30 to a case back in the day. Quite a marketing ploy, that worked on me many times
