  1. I will not be buying any issues for at least another 2 weeks - this was set up well in advance and you need not be present to win as long as you've sent frozentundraguy your list you are good. The only updates you would miss over the next 2-3 weeks will just be additions to the prize package and a lot of funny gifs. Something to keep in mind is that some of these books are a bit pricey and realistically on my somewhat limited comic budget this may go on until the end of the year maybe even into early next year. We shall see, the finish line is in sight and the fever is upon me so anything could happen.
  2. Just some FYI's for you all. I have no real plan of attack on the 15 remaining issues so I am pretty much in the dark with you all as this plays out. I have 3 books left that I have promised to buy and they are not included in the 15. Once those purchases have been completed I will then start in on the 15 remaining books, posting as I go. And now it's on with the funny gifs and nonsense that always ensues when we do stuff like this:
  3. I always loved this story and the cover! It may have been my first time reading of Cold and Wave teaming up against the Flash. As I remember it from my first collection 70's/80's collection. I believe I also had a copy in my 90's collection. Here's my current copy!
  4. Nice one! What would you guess the grade to be?
  5. Last chance Flash Fans to have your copy of Flash 165 forever immortalized on page 165 of the Flash Collectors Thread! Only 1 post left on this page! Going once...going twice... Get yer 166's outta da box and get those scanners warmed up, we're 'bout to turn the page!
  6. The beginning to every great and sometimes painful story... "He was dressed as the Flash and well..." Best of luck to all the contestants!
  7. Any idea on how many times Flash made the cover on those Australian compilations?
  8. Those Australian edditions are awesome! Thanks for digging it out of the box for us! A real treat!
  9. FYI folks, I will not be buying any of the 15 until September. So we are good until then.
  10. My latest undergound! So happy to have any of these early books! I am no expert like you all are, I just love the art and the stories. Maybe you can help me, do any of you know if this is a first printing? Would a 1970 underground have a 50 cent cover price? Weren't they still 25 cents back then? Thanks!
  11. Please join the fun if you'd care to take a guess at which Flash issue will be the last one for me to finally complete this run 105-350!
  12. Yes its been a quiet few days. But we did start the contest over in the general thread this week! I believe there are 2-3 spots still open if you'd like to join the fun. Just submit you list to Frozentundraguy.
  13. Just 15 issues to go! I'm racing to the finish line! Sort of, Some of these are keys so... it could take some time but at least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is the closest I've come to completing the run in more than 40 years of collecting the Flash. There were two sell offs over that time, sad, but I like to think that Flash came to my rescue right when I needed him. I'ts been a bit of an uphill climb/run. And now this amazing collection is nearly complete!
  14. What will be the final issue for flashlites to get to complete the run 105-350!!?? There are just 15 issues left. If you can guess which one it will be, there is a prize package! For starters: The Flash #123 and Flash #1 from the 80's are reproductions, but how about that B&B Flash/Doom Patrol that's pure Silver Age Sweetness! I will add more to the pile, I just have to dig through a few boxes. And I'm throwing in a 25$ gift card! I estimate it may take 6 months or more to obtain the last 15 issues, but who knows, the finish line is in sight now and the fever is upon me. I will add prizes to the package as I go and of course update all purchases here and in the Flash Collectors Thread. If you haven't stopped by in a while to check out the Flash thread please do! It's an awesome dedicated thread and we are having a lot of fun over there matching the thread page number with our copies of Flash with the same issue #.
  15. Speaking of Broome...I found this gem tucked away in a WW #23 from 1947! (Writing under the pen name Osgood, but that's our John B.)
  16. Broome was the best! And his last Flash issue also a wedding cover.
  17. Here's a question for all you Flash Masters out there...Sometime ago maybe about 10 issues back and I cant remember which issue it was, but inside, National Periodicals ran about a 1/4 page ad with all the circulation #'s for Flash. Kind of like a PSA or something. It was fascinating and I meant to go back over it and really soak it in and maybe share it here. I know I set it aside for a bit but I kind of forgot about it until now - this last week with all these new issues coming in I ended up putting everything back and in order as I double checked my list of missing issues. And now I cant recall which issue it was.
  18. After rechecking the old list: Its down to just 15 now: 106,110,111,112,117,135,174,267,275,278,280,281,282,342,343. The only books i'm buying in the next month or so are ones I've promised to buy and have already checked off the list.
  19. Stan tells it so convincingly. Maybe it was Carmine? Who knows, but after that everything sure started to change at Marvel.
