Free speech is about the speaker, not the recipient.  All ideas are not entitled to be given equal weight by the viewers or listeners.  Just because you post something on a private businesses’ message platform does not mean that business is obligated to help you spread that message by keeping it up on their site.  If the message is abhorrent, false, stupid, defamatory, or traitorous it may well be taken down,   You can always find another corner of the internet on which to post.

And when the people taking the conversation down are wrong, biased or bought?  It's great until the censors come for you (and then it's too late).

I was specifically talking about social media, which is the primary recruiting engine for people like this. Free speech isn't implicated, since Facebook et al are private companies and not government entities. Constitutional protection applies to infringement by the latter, not the former.

The people who join causes like this aren't going to be swayed by rational argument. Do you really think balanced, factual debate can sway someone advocating for a race war? Or a pogrom? There's a limit to what ideas merit discourse, and as much as I want a free exchange of ideas, literal Nazism is well beyond the pale (ironic use of that idiom notwithstanding).

Sorry, I'm always going to side with free speech regardless of platform (Facebook, Comic book message board, the local bar you drink at).  The cure for bad ideas are good ideas discussed openly and honestly, not acting like a dictator and wanting someone shut down / silenced / de-platformed.

There are 300 million people in this country, so you are bound to end up with fringe nutcases. Obviously I wish they would crawl back under whichever slimy rock they call home, but what really disappoints me is the outsized media attention they get. Plays right into their hands and it's why deplatforming scum like this is so important. Hard to find other locals with these beliefs, but when you can reach across the internet you can find the like-minded and organize more effectively.

Totally agree that there are a bunch of crazy/nutcases in all walks of society.  I think we should push back with facts and expose people but in my opinion de-platforming people is never the answer.  First they will say that their crazy idea is some how real and dark forces are aligned against them and people will believe them since they have been driven underground.  Best way to expose bad ideas are to shine a light on them and discuss, are we really scared that flat earth folks will somehow prevail when they debate on the facts?  Second, the problem is that there is no way to operationalize and give someone the ability to shut down others.  It's too important to free speech, I don't trust anyone with that much power.  Even with the best intentions eventually every bad actor wouldn't want the power to silence the other side regardless of who, one political party, another government, the military, the media.  Because they would all want that power and we should never trust it to someone.  People would be afraid to talk about important things for fear of being silenced, it would be a huge mistake.

While this isn’t a terrible cover, by looking at it you wouldn’t guess there’s Barry Windsor-Smith goodness on the inside:

Actually, looking at that cover you probably wouldn’t guess that it’s Simonson/Sienkiewicz art either.

Always thought this cover was sub par.

  6. It's funny, the price collectors are willing to pay for an individual issue that used to retail for $0.10 and then the cost to have it graded and put in it's individual slab/case makes the cost of these spinner racks seem reasonable to me.  But hey, to each his own.

Again, if he's done something illegal, let justice do its job. Until then, can we please stop referencing things we hear on Twitter. It's nothing more than a cesspool.

I feel quite the opposite, if than many people came out with credible stories that he actually did this, even if he didn't break age of consent law people should know.

Would you let your young daughter or sister hang out with this scumbag????
