Thanks for the info. Usually when I decline an offer I send a little note explaining why. That probably has some sellers asking "who is this insufficiently_thoughtful_person?"
-
Some times when I put a book on my watch list, I get an offer from the seller. I was just curious if this is something set up in the listing to do automatically when someone watches a book, or is it done "manually" by the seller? Is the seller even aware of the offer until a person responds?

Book Sold With Missing Page - Who Is Responsible?
evilskip replied to Math Teacher's topic in Comics General
This. I've had a couple of ebay sellers tell me that they don't check the books for missing pages, cut outs etc as they "don't have the time", especially if it isn't a "major" book or a key. Sadly the burden falls upon the buyer to make sure if the book is or isn't complete. I have looked through a book, left positive feedback and a couple of weeks later have found a missing coupon or panel when reading it. That's on me. But I tend not to buy books on ebay that are over $50 unless it is a seller I've dealt with before. -

I know its a cheat to put the Iron Man Annual in the SA, but it does have excellent SA stories in it. -

Is this tied into a dollar amount? I only buy books off ebay, but I've never had to confirm that any package arrived. I have seen where Paypal says they won't release funds until the package has shipped.

Question About How the Hobby Views Restoration
evilskip replied to Happy Noodle Boy's topic in Comics General
Wow! It is really nice to know the story behind this book because I thought I never would. Thanks for sharing that and for putting it up on MCS! At this point, I'm keeping it in the slab. -
Question About How the Hobby Views Restoration
evilskip replied to Happy Noodle Boy's topic in Comics General
This is one restored book that I own. The only reason I grabbed it was that it was priced at $4.75. (Still can't see how a book with a clipped panel can be a 4.0., but that's just me). -

Can't argue with any of the 3.0 to 3.5 grades.
