I have a couple of raw copies of Hawkman 9, which is one of my favorite books. For a couple of years now I had been wanting a slabbed copy just for fun. They just didn't seem to turn up much and I wasn't looking to shell out big bucks for one either. Also, the Newton Ring situation really soured me on picking up CGC books. But I made an exception for number 9 and finally nabbed this one and am really happy with it!

I don't have a grade, but without the writing that easily would be an 8.5 or better.

Water damage is a heart breaker, especially on a book such as this one. 2.5.

I've been told for thirty five years that I'm an under grader. And I think that 3.5 on ebay looks like a 2.5 with the spine damage and the piece missing.

I'm always the low baller, so I'm thinking 3.5.

No sarcasm here. Unless something is wrong with the book and it has undisclosed problems, you should keep it. Making the seller take the hit because you may have paid fmv just isn't right. The main thing about bidding in auctions is having a clear idea of the maximum you would be comfortable in paying and sticking to it.

As it is no ttaking the resto into consideration, 3.0.

That upper right back corner looks like a split. If so, I'd go around a 5.0 at best. If not, 6.5.

I've got a nickel in ebay bucks. Not sure what to spend it on.

I swore I would never, ever, pick up Batman 147. Bat Baby? Sigh.....

FF#1 is the Action Comics #1 for Marvel. Not wild about the signature, but it would be the book I would choose.
