  1. No, if my copies are stamped then I would have bought them in the UK (not when they first appeared, though - I was only just born).
  2. Hi again. I found some more, though not as many as I had hoped. Most of my DC romance comics were bought from US dealers. Also, I think you are unlikely to find many of the romance/humour/etc titles with stamps on after about mid-1960, as they weren’t distributed in the UK. You might find the odd ‘fluke’ though. I think those two Sugar and Spikes fall into that category. BTW, a couple of corrections to your table. Three Mouseketeers 25 is Aug/Sep 1960 and 26 is Oct/Dec 1960.
  3. Sorry, I thought the chart might just have been cut off. I will be patient!
  4. The ‘what’s missing’ chart only goes down to House of Secrets (as far as I can see).
  5. Yes, about five or six of my issues contain a Marvel comic or two. And occasionally an ACG comic. I’m not convinced there are any Double Doubles that contain only three comics. I suspect if a Double Double only has three comics within, it means that it is incomplete. Double Doubles are notorious for having something missing.
  6. That’s a beautiful copy of the Batman 2. I don’t think any of my Double Doubles are quite that nice. Both my copies of the Batman 2 contain Batman 181.
  7. Hi Marwood. Hope the above are useful. My copies of the other issues you need are all without T&P stamps. You mention you need Adventures of Bob Hope 57. Is that a mistake? That issue is about mid-1959. I may have some of the romance covers you need, if you want to list them.
  8. My list of all 24 issues is in the comments on the following post (with original US covers noted). I would be very surprised if any other issues existed. I know of several UK collectors (including me) who have been collecting these for years, and these are the only issues we have discovered. https://themagicrobot.wordpress.com/2008/03/17/thorpe-and-porter-double-double-comics/
  9. Hi Marwood. You should find attached All-Star Western 110, Falling In Love 32, Girls’ Love Stories 68 and Star-Spangled War Stories 88, all with lovely T&P stamps. I’m looking at your November 27 post, so I hope they’re still of use. I do have Flippity And Flop 47 and Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis 1, but unfortunately they don’t have T&P stamps. I also have Star-Spangled War Stories 89, 90 and 91, all with T&P stamps, if they’re of use.
  10. Yes, that’s true, but there are at least six copies of the UK version on eBay at the moment, and it would be easy to get from a UK dealer, so it can’t really be called rare.
  11. That was good marketing. I’m sure it wouldn’t have made that much but for the incomplete Batman 181 inside. I don’t think I have ever paid more than £20 for a Double Double.
  12. I was the underbidder for that batch of annuals. I regret not bidding higher as I would have liked to get the Doom Patrol. But the condition was a bit dodgy. I think this guy was the winner (scroll down slightly): https://themagicrobot.wordpress.com
  13. Thanks guys. I think (think!) I have reconciled the 295/291 EC single-issue reprint discrepancy. The Wikipedia 295 seems to be right. If you take the CGC thread number (291), add Impact 1-5 (which CGC missed) and subtract Crime Patrol 11 (there are only 10 issues), you get the Wikipedia figure of 295!
  14. This 14-year-old thread seems to be the best source of information I can find about EC reprints. I am particularly interested in the single-issue, 32-page reprints issues by Gemstone. (They are listed in the long post above by ECandWarrenFan.) Adding up the issues listed by ECandWarrenFan, there seem to be 291 issues. But the EC Archives Wikipedia entry mentions 295 issues. Is one of these sources wrong, or is there a good explanation for the discrepancy? What are the other four issues, if they exist? Any information gratefully received!
  15. Sorry if this has been mentioned before. I have recently begun collecting the EC Archives (which are wonderful, by the way). My copy of the Weird Science 3 archive doesn’t include the insert of the cover of WS 18. Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to get the insert? The guy I bought the WS 3 archive from never had it. Thanks.
  16. Yes, I noticed. The second one turned up the day after I had won the first one. Not a coincidence!
  17. I confess, I bought the Mystery In Space Annual. I have never overpaid so much before!
  18. I haven’t got them anymore, but the DC issues are quite nice: http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/series.php?page=gallery&seriesid=1478
  19. Isn’t Superman 1 notorious for having the back page missing?
