  1. As all of the variants are arriving at my house, I must give the various shops credit for sending high quality books and using great packing. The only exception would be Jetpack Comics, who sent out copies that had creases on the covers and spine ticks. Overall, Image has partnered with some quality shops here.
  2. I will update my post with this info. The only thing that is inaccurate is the Color splash variant attributed to Unknown Comics. I contacted them and they said there are only two variants for their shop. Perhaps Image listed the wrong retailer for that book. May I ask where they posted the list?
  3. Just added two more. I think this is complete.
  4. These drop tomorrow. Are there any others that are not listed above?
  5. It was not my intention to deceive. I see what you meant when mentioning derailing the topic earlier. How about this before it gets too far off the rails? I will modify the original post to satisfy this possible discrepancy in numbers and we can focus on the books instead of minutiae.
  6. Print runs are not much higher than the number to be sold, but I have heard they go over by a small margin. It allows them to pull defective books and still have the stated “print run” available to sell. Honest shops will rip the cover off and make extras available as reader copies.
  7. The ashcan preceded NYCC by three months, so perhaps it will be considered the true gem of them all. I think all are worth getting since the print runs are tiny for each. Completing a master set of all of them will be super tough as they sell out and find homes in collections.
  8. I'm not sure how many were given out, but the pair of Diamond Valiant Unity TPB's from back in the 90's was one of the toughest things I ever tracked down when completing my old school Valiant run.
  9. I have completely rewritten this opening post as of 01/21/2020. I believe it to now be a complete catalog of the first prints of this title. 10. I found out the issue with my modern submission received on 7/11. It turns out three books (all copies of the same book) were something never seen before and needed to be researched. Moral of the story: don't send in odd or unique books with your others. They will slow down the entire lot. Send books that might require some research in a submission by themselves.
  11. Seeing all of these books being sent back to their owners that were received around the same time mine were has convinced me my books are lost or misplaced somewhere in the process.
  12. I've called until they are probably tired of hearing from me. Short of having someone do a physical check for them, I don't know what else to do. I'm very frustrated at this point, especially now that people are reporting movement on submissions received almost a week after mine.
  13. At least others are getting their books back. My modern submission, received on 7/11/19, is still sitting in SFG status. At this point, I'm convinced they are misplaced or lost.
  14. It's just odd since it has never happened to me before. They are still sitting there in SFG status, and more than a week has passed since the others were shipped back. It's hard to believe they would just sit in the slabbing room for that long.
  15. I'm really beginning to worry about my modern submission. There were 33 books and they were split into two groups. The group of 8 has already been returned to me, but the remaining 25 haven't even left the "scheduled for grading" phase. I've called for the past three days and am always told they must be in the slabbing room. At this point, I really wish someone could check to make sure my books are actually there. They seem to be in limbo somewhere.
  16. Modern (33 Books) All received on 7/11/19. They were split into two groups. The first group of 8 books went to F/I/S status on 8/5/19, and the other group of 25 books is still sitting there in SFG status. Weird.
  17. PRICE DROP 9/19/19. Take 10% off and pay only $450. This is a rare book that was given away by Marvel during October 1993. Very few survived, making raw ungraded copies in F/VF condition sell for around $100-$150. Copies that can attain a 9.8 grade are virtually non-existent with only a dozen or so having reached that grade. Price is $500 shipped in the USA. No returns on graded books.
  18. I have a question about crossover grading. I see where the book to be graded must be intact in the other company's holder. Would a CBCS graded book that is sealed in the inner holder with grade label firmly attached at the top qualify? The outer shell is gone, but the book is inside the sealed inner well. The label is sealed to that well. Hopefully, this would still be eligible.
  19. As someone who has collected Valiant since the beginning and who owns a copy of every book they printed, I feel that EW #5 will drop out of the running for consideration as a major Bloodshot key. EW #4 and Rai #0 will be the Hulk 180/181 equivalent, with Rai #0 Glossy being the runaway winner. Fortunately, I have my 9.8 of both on lockdown already If the movie is good, I expect big gains.
  20. How did this turn out? I have a pedigree book that I am considering sending to CCS for pressing and regrading, and I am curious how your experience went. How long did the whole process take, and what grade did you get?
  21. Please delete the thread. Thank you.
