  1. What is the typical timeframe from time of posting to time of completion? ( I wish I had a concise answer. It all depends on in-house volume, show schedule, how many emails I have to write letting people know that they can't put Detective Comics books in a Batman Set, etc. I do try to get to them as quickly as I can.)
  2. Updated the original post with my own pics and removed the ebay pics.
  3. Thank you in advance for adding the following: Transformers: Generation 2 (Marvel) nn Halloween Special Edition Transformers: Regeneration One (IDW) #82 Retailer Incentive Edition #86 Retailer Incentive Edition #87 Retailer Incentive Edition #88 Retailer Incentive Edition #89 Retailer Incentive Edition #90 Retailer Incentive Edition #91 Retailer Incentive Edition #92 Retailer Incentive Edition #92 Convention Edition #93 Retailer Incentive Edition #94 Retailer Incentive Edition #95 Retailer Incentive Edition #96 Retailer Incentive Edition #97 Retailer Incentive Edition #98 Retailer Incentive Edition #99 Retailer Incentive Edition #100 Retailer Incentive Edition #100 Convention Edition #100 Sketch Edition #0 Retailer Incentive Edition #0 Giant Robot Comics Edition nn 100 Page Spectacular Variant Cover
  4. I have gotten more information on it in a Facebook group. It is a "reader copy" given for free to people who purchase a store exclusive cover.
  5. That's what I like about this story, as well. Both faced somewhat similar circumstances, although I would say the Punisher got the worst scenario. Interesting. I didn't know fake covers were a thing. Unfortunately, nothing there references this cover.
  6. The back cover is the artwork from the front cover without any titles. Pics 1,2,8,9,10 show the front and pics 3,4,5,6,7 show the back.
  7. Does anyone have any info on this cover? I can't find much information about the various covers for this book.
  8. Being a fan of 90's Valiant, this has been on my wish list for awhile. I finally picked up a decent copy. I have updated this post with my own photos and am no longer using the ebay pics. What do you guys think? Estimates for grades before and after a press are welcomed. Based on my experience with books that I have had pressed, the following defects should be totally resolved by pressing: very slight spine roll, slight roll in book on lower right (visible in the pic of the full front cover), non-color breaking crease in 12 cent area, non-color breaking crease near area that says PIN-UP NO. 1. Overall, there is a lot about this book that can be cleaned up very nicely with a press. Spine ticks will remain but will be minimized. I think it has a good shot at 7.5 OW/W.
  9. I'm still a bit of a noob on these forums. I've posted a bit, but I still have a lot of exploring to do. I agree about this book. It is special, and the concept will be put on a screen somewhere eventually. I will have to take a look at these.
  10. I liked the concept and some pages I saw online, read about the interest from Hollywood, and figured it's good for the tv/movie treatment eventually. After learning a bit more through pm, I think the facepalm was due to misinformation that is out there about Scalped #43. Some legitimate collecting sites have it listed as the first appearance of Earl Tubb, but I now believe they are wrong. I'm probably going to pick up the rest of the series at some point just because it sounds very interesting. I won't regret having this cover in 9.8, even if it is coming to a very slow boil versus blasting off. I've been holding Valiant keys for decades, and only now are they really heating up. If you have copies capable of 9.8 with/without a press, I may be interested.
  11. Why the face palm? It's the toughest cover and rarely pops up on ebay. When it does, it seems to be going up in value based on what I have observed (this version, not all covers). It's not setting the woods on fire like some other major modern keys, but it seems to be on an upward trajectory. I thought this thread was about uncovering gems that are due to breakout, not pointing them out after they have peaked. Even if the show idea fizzles, there is also talk of a movie. The property is on Hollywood's radar.
  12. Just picked up a CBCS 9.8 Southern Bastards #1 (HeroesCon Variant) for $100 plus shipping. I'm planning to submit it for a crossover . I'm expecting this book to continue heating up as we get closer to the show on FX. I thought issues of Scalped might also heat up, but it looks like that tv series may be in jeopardy. At least Scalped #43 has potential thanks to the 1st appearance of Earl Tubbs from Southern Bastards.
  13. That and free grader's notes would kill all competition. The only value I see in CBCS is the access to free grader's notes.
  14. Nice. I picked up Harbinger (1992) #1 in 9.8 for a great price after coupon.

  16. If performed by a professional, the overspray can be dry erased. Do not attempt this yourself! Also, is that a very small tear on the top of the back cover?
  17. I am looking for a blank copy of this book, as well. I will pay handsomely for it.
  18. I'm super confident in the abilities of my provider. She is a true professional who has worked for a world class museum and one of the largest art auction houses in the world. I won't name-drop out of respect to CGC/CCS since it is their board.
  19. I'm leaning toward white pages on this one. All Marvel books from the period have a slightly OW appearance, but it doesn't have the "aged" OW look.
  20. Hot on the heels of my recent 9.4 ASM 129, I have picked up another Spidey key. I'm planning to get this pressed to perfect the alignment of the book. Other than that, it appears to need no other work. Thoughts?
  21. I'll be beyond bummed out if it goes that low. It's nicer than that.
  22. I'm hoping it gets a bit better than 9.2. It is a stunning book in person. I've seen similar books in the 9.4 range. We'll know soon It's currently at CGC with Express grading service, so hopefully early next week. Best wishes on the two you have sent in!
