  1. I am unsure about the size of the hole. Can you specify it?
  2. I would appreciate if people would help me to grade this Brazilian Uncle Scrooge 3 (US Uncle Scrooge 47,49 and many other no Barks histories) The main defects are the three pieces of tape on the cover, the stamp mark on the cover, with the last letter having a stain on it. On the square bound spine, there is a number three that was hand written. Plus it is far away from being flat. The back cover has the remain of one of the tapes that is also on the cover, a small chip and a folding mark that breaks color.
  3. IMO the massive spine split prevents it of being in the very good range. My guess would be 2.5-3.0
  4. This unorthodox format comic book (35cm long) here brings a compilation of Secret Agent 9X drawn by Alex Raymond histories originally published in 1934. Released in 18/12/1935 in Brazil. In quite a bad shape, a nearly blank page is detached, the cover is very darkened due to exposure to dust and pollution, as the inner pages and the back cover, that has big crack on its hard cover. Plus the square bound spine is mostly gone. Yet, still like to look at it !
  5. Hello. I would deeply appreciate if anyone can help to have a good notion of the grade of this really unorthodox format (35cm width) 1935 Secret Agent X9 comics from Brazil. It's condition obviously is not one of the best. The cover is heavy darkened (actually the whole thing) due to long exposure to heavy dust . Its square bound spine is mostly destroyed, less than half of it survived. The interior has stains besides being yellowish. And the first pahe that is nearly blank is fully detached. The back cover has a heavy crack in its hard cover.
  6. Hello. I have here an Action Comics 655 I would appreciate some guesses as to its grade. On the cover can be noticed some color breaking creases and considerable stains in the back cover. Full size images can be seen clicking on these thumbnails:
  7. Thanks to all for the answers. Glad you liked. I will likely put pics of my other two Brazilian SS editions in not too far future, I hope. Anyway, I would like opinions about the vertical crack on the spine. How much can it affect the grade? Fortunately I do not intend to grade it, just like to try to guess the grade of some of my key comic books. And yes the interior is BW. Heroes and super-heroes Brazilian comic books were usually in B&W until about that time, even though color was present in Brazil's comics related material since 1905. The Phantom and Mandrake went to color in 1967, if I am not mistake, and the year this issue was released (1969) Brazil's main super-heroes comic book publisher, Ebal, would start to launch special editions in colors, that would have so much success that its main titles of Superman and Batman would remain in BW until late second half of the 70's as to not interfere with the colorful editions success.
  8. Hello to all here, I would deeply appreciate if anyone can help me to grade this Brazilian SS1 (USA Silver Surfer 1 and 2). The main issue is in its square bond spine, that has one big vertical crack that goes from up to down. There is not any detached page inside, but I try to avoid to open the issue fully as to avoid the possibility of the crack to expand and split the issue in 2. See last picture. Outside that, there is a stain in the "D" letter, two small missing pieces close to it, another stain right bellow the aliens support disk, a small folding mark with color break in the top right corner on some blunting on the right lower corner. Back cover has a good amount of stains and the likely original white color became darker.
  9. Hello, I would appreciate if people help me to grade this Marvel Tales 43. I believe all issues are quite visible from the cover so I will let the images to speak by themselves
  10. Thanks! If there was not a cut in the two inner pages, which grade do you think would be more suitable to it? More opinions are welcome!
  11. And now, I would DEEPLY appreciate if people help me to grade this extremely important comic book. There are lots of defects this time. The main one is in the interior. As can be seen from photo 1, part of two inner pages were cut off. Not sure if makes some different, but this area was meant to be trimmed, as can be noted by the dotted line. The cover itself is in pretty bad shape, missing pieces on both right corners, full of stains and strong stress lines, especially parallel to the spine. The borders seems to have been attacked by insects The photos does not make justice to their strength, next time I will pass the photo by some kind of sharpening filter. The back cover has a region close to the spine that lost all the color. Multiple stains are presents. Also there is a long, color breaking crease the cross the guy's orange hair. There is a little staple in the lower part, close to the spine The square bound spine also has the continuation of this piece of tape, has stains, it's rolled, as can be seen from the cover image and it's relief is far fro being fully flat. Thanks to all for the help.
  12. Hello, I am here to see if anyone can help me to grade this Marvel Spotlight 12. Some notes. Lower staple is detached from the cover (and rusty)) A small line right bellow the nose from the guy who talks. Small breaking creases closes to the spine, especially close to the staples. A stamp mark in the back cover
  13. There is no such thing in here (Brazil), At least related to comic books. I would have to submit it through mail to US. The increased resale value would not even come close to pay for the shipping costs or the dry cleaning cost. It would probably be worth if this was a number 1 issue, perhaps also for number 2.
  14. Thanks Gnasher (again)! But it really does not look like water damage to me. I am sure the stains are the result of exposure to dust, although the low resolution photos may not be able to show it. No "bumps" on the relief that are characteristic of water damage. The vertical line of stains that I mentioned, I have similar strips (although horizontal) in other comic books. And they were stored in a locker where the door spent a long time broken, with the door open, and several comics acquired similar defects. I think my super long text may have transmitted it looks worst than it really was. I personally have the impression it's on the fine range, as it has very little or nothing of creases, folding marks on the cover. The back cover looks considerably worst, I have to admit. The cover also retains most of the original gloss.
  15. Hello.I would like people to help to grade this Brazilian cap 58 (that has the content of EUA cap 253-254, Ghost Rider 3 and Tales of Suspense 58). I have a better one so I intend to sell this one and would appreciate any help to grade it . The flaws. The visible issues are stains, there is a lot of it, especially a thin vertical strip of it on the right side of the cover, close to its end. Close to that strip, there are a few isolated stains (three of it) one above the leg from the vampire, one bellow and one on the transition area between the yellow-green background to the brown area, very close to hand of Union Jack. Close to the first of the three stains there is a darker dot of something that got stuck on the cover. This one is probably impossible to note from the picture but there is a VERY thin vertical strip that goes from the bottom until the middle of the cover. Honestly, I don't know the precise point where it ends and only is really visible in person on the orange part of the cover. Not a stain though, it changes the relief. There is minimal loss of paint on that region but it is far less than the photo indicates. The light reflected too much light there because the cover is not flat in that region. In fact there is several small bumps around the right limit of the cover, that usually are on the same spots as the stains. The top right corner if slight bent upwards. To end the cover description that are two invisible (on the photo) defects. One are "dents" that seems to be made by a pencil's head. They start as soon as cap's head ends and proceed until close to the spine. They are fairly easy to spot personally. Not much above it, there is a small crease that does not break color. No more than 2-3mm. The superior part of the spine can be seen a lot of stains, especially close to Cap's logo. Close to Cap's left feet on the logo, there is another crease, smaller than the first. Part of It broke the color minimally. Finally there is a line that breaks the color (minimally). It goes from the top of the cover, enter the logo area, vanishing on the middle of it or slight before. The back cover is full of stains, easily more than the cover, especially close to the borders. Most left border of the cover is not fully flat, with small bumps around it. It is also not fully flat close to the inferior left corner, where there are strong stains. There is a small tear (one centimeter) on the lower right corner with probably introduced. There are are two horizontal wrinkles, close to the rightmost juice (pineapple one). One coincides with a stain, slight above the middle of the bottle, the other, probably not visible is close to the top and 1cm or so of extension. Close to the spine, there are faint vertical stress lines. One goes from the top and ends before the comics start. Another, parallel to it, closer to the spine, starts from the top, fairly visible until vanishes in the middle of the back cover. Another starts above the tear on the inferior right corner and starts to vanish where the comics are ending. Finally there is a horizontal non color break crease of 1,5-2,0cm close to superior right corner and some small wear on the top right corner
  16. Hello, came here to PGM my Batman 232 if not too much trouble. I will describe all the main problems that I saw. First there is writing on the lower right corner of the cover, as can be seen in details on images 3. There is a hole made by an insect close to one of Batman's ear. It's not that big on the cover, but on the front cover is quite noticeable (image 2). The back cover has two big folding marks, something printed on it (don't remember how it's called in English), some stains and some small pieces missing, especially on it's bottom and on the superior left corner There is creases around the lower staple and another one close to the bottom of the spine (image 4). There is smaller creases around the middle of the spine (image 5). On the superior part of the spine, there is small creases close to the staple and a small piece of the cover missing, slight above Batman's hand. Besides that, the spine is rolled and the staples are somewhat rusty. Plus the spine is "dirty" Looking the cover from the other side (images 7 and 8), it can be noticed that there is a lot of missing pieces (perhaps due insects attack). Not sure how that is called. Well that's it.
  17. Thanks. Astonishingly high numbers. It's possible that some copies were submitted to PGX or CBCS and so shall be added to the count?
  18. Out of curiosity, how many Four Color 386 on mint range are supposed to exist? And how many are on high grade (>7 and <9)? Thanks for your time.
  19. Not sure if it's THE favourite of mine, but is certainly one of them. I like the one that Donald wants to became a forest ranger, and it starts with him and two other useless candidates. Such a powerful criticism to the way older generation looks down to newer ones without noting that they bears similar flaws. A little eye candy: The first five Brazilian comic books that brought Barks histories, from 46-47. The legendary "Seleçoes Coloridas" (colorful selections), that are rare even for Brazilian standards, very rare for US standards. His first history published here was "Pecking order" from Walt Disney's Comics And Stories (1940) n° 57/. It was a secondary story for the first edition, that had as the main attraction an Argentinean history. The n°3 and 14 were all Barks. N° 6 also brought an Argentinean history together with one from Barks. Number n°9 brought a single history, that was drawn by Barks, but also by Jack Hannah and written by Bob Karp.
  20. Greetings from a fellow Brazilian comic book collector! Komic Kaze, you have NO idea of how much I liked your post! I have so many questions, so let's start it. Do you know any of these famous Brazilian collectors ? Tom Zé, Geraldo Cachola and Kendi Sakamoto, Idalino Rodrigues dos Santos and Antônio José da Silva? Especially Mr Cachola? How much rare material you have that is not super-heroes related? I ask it because many of the most desirable issues or collections here are not super-heroes related. For instance these collections of Donald Duck or Mickey that are in high 5 or low 6 figures: https://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-995187780-o-pato-donald-coleco-do-1-ao-2075-editora-abril-_JM https://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-1001859872-pato-donald-do-1-ao-2450-rarissimos-e-originais-_JM https://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-1003755805-coleco-mickey-do-1-ao-891-comp-com-os-os-albuns-e-brindes-_JM https://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-769819702-coleco-mickey-do-1-ao-100-excelente-estado-originais-raros-_JM Plus individual issues are also very expensive: https://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-702543159-ock-mickey-n-8-maio-de-1952-donald-na-africa-super-raro-_JM https://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-1004499343-pato-donald-selecoes-coloridas-n-1-edit-ebal-1945-original-_JM Do you own one of these ?: a "Gibi, Edição Especial De São João" ?. Some other top level comic book collectors regard it as saint grail between Brazilian comic books, since only ten were produced. Since it does not contain any important super-heroes, I am not sure how much it would have been of interest for you. Do you now the youtube comic book channel called "Pipoca and Nanquim". They did a video on last year on Comic Con Experience, and there was a place were several golden age Brazilian comic books plus a lot of important US issues, like several Amazing Spider-Man 1 (Look at 14:10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyECMNB_fN0). It is related to you? Do you have some difficulties in reading Brazilian comic books, or are you fully adapted to Portuguese? If you have far little trouble to read Portuguese, What to do you think about this? https://vejasp.abril.com.br/cidades/o-misterio-das-hqs/ Do you have any of these rare 60s, 70s and 80s Brazilian issues? I think they can challenge a lot of the earlier golden age stuff in terms of rarity! Finally, what do you think about this issue? I saw it on sell last year! I think it's a strong candidate for being the most rare Brazilian comic book, even one of the most rare in the world!. It's a issue n°8 from 1905! Sorry for so many of them, but I had to ask!
