  1. That's the market price though..... Edit: Actually under market price.
  2. I will be ordering 250 of #1 and 150 of #2, #3 and #4 . Total investment is approx $1400 for 700 books. If it flops I still have wiggle room with selling sets, IF it soars I will be positioned nicely. One doesn't need to have a large store when there is e-bay to sell to collectors/Investors/speculators/other dealers etc around the world. Good luck! Seems to be working out well for Nowhere Men, eh ViperDays? That said, . I just wouldn't have the time, nor care or afford the overhead of bagging, boarding, boxing, paying for postage and shipping that many books. If it explodes, congrats. Odds are that it won't be the next TWD. I hope it is? Best of luck? Yes, working out very well with NWM and a few other IMAGE titles I have yet to sell either SAGA,MP,PP etc . Books come bagged and boarded, postage is paid by buyers, letter carrier picks up packages at my door,no way around time to list or package...that's what the kids are for :-) My point here is that most people think there is too much work and are not willing to do this ...even as a side gig. My biggest thing is that US sellers tend to not ship overseas. No more time or effort and your consumer base is expanded exponentially. Hell, if I knew posting here would cause people to drop orders I would have posted earlier....JUST KIDDING !!! How much NWM did you invest, roughly?
  3. Secret kicks . Is it for sure they will never finish it?
  4. Ugh. There's no reason for a lock. I just wanted to have the discussion about the forum selling vs. ebay. I did not attack anyone.
  5. That's what message boards are for, debate and discussioin but it's cool. I think we both made our points. I'll repeat and say I didn't mean anything personal. And, I'd love to see my more than likely heinous post directed at you.
  6. Wow, hit the derail button and bail. I don't think it's that off topic, discussing sales of Revival on Ebay or the forum. But, it looks like you gave up on the discussion. Plus, you've only been here since September, you couldn't have annoyed me too bad in the past. Sarcastic cheers back to you.
  7. you said something along the lines of, everything i post is obnoxious/arrogant. I dont really remember. We didnt get into it, i mostly ignored it. As for arguing, i meant vis-a-vis personal attacks. In terms of defending my sales post, I am happy to post the what/why, even if that is arguing/debating. Hey RH... if you ever want to sell one of those #2 9.9 (or trade)... please knock on my door. I think he is the one who bought them both that day from ebay, from jerry3204. I know they were posted in this thread as they were listed. (remember i tried to PM you about them ), but they sold instantly... Personal attacks? How did I attack you personally? By stating that the majority of time you won't get Ebay prices on the boards? That's just a fact, not an attack. The word "you", is a collective "you". And didn't you do quite nice with your stash of Saga? Also, I'm looking to see if you did I hate you before
  8. Yup, you do know that every single thing I have sold on there has been deals worked in PMs. Not everyone has to list things dirt cheap for others to flip. I am more than happy to accommodate people and work things out. There are many people who cruise around the selling area and expect insane discounts (in the modern area anyway), buy stuff, and then list it back in the selling area or on ebay a week later for way more money. A lot of moderns havent had enough sales to form real price data. <10 data points on GPA doesnt make for valid valuations. Especially when the market can change quickly. Ebay auctions, by bid, are FAR more accurate in showing what multiple people are currently willing to pay for something. Last sales of a book are a VERY valid place to start negotiations from, and as I say in my thread. "I am open to listen to all offers, I just ask that people share the logic behind it with me". "I want it 25% below ebay so i can flip it tomorrow", not the kind of logic i am looking to sell to. One last thing, you seem to like taking little shots at me. You can go ahead and keep sniping, I am not going to take the bait and argue with you. Last statement: On ebay I listed my books for $530 shipped, so it was already more than 10% off that when I listed it in the selling section. Cheers (thumbs u It wasn't a snipe, sorry if you took it that way. If I was looking for top dollar for moderns, I wouldn't put them on here. People here on the boards are smarter buyers? Less eager to spend big books on moderns? Smaller target group? And when did I get into it with you before? Seriously don't remember. Also, you did just argue with me. Last time I checked it was okay to argue. Why am I typing like Larry?
  9. Last 1:10 = $150 Last 3rd Eye = $125 Last Sketch = $225 -------------------------------- Total =$500 Last Blue 9.8 Set, with Regular cover instead of 3rd Eye --------------------------------- Total=$455 by bid All strong sales. But when I had (1:10,3rd Eye, Sketch) listed for $450 on the sales area, didn't even get offers from people trying to haggle. Hopefully, the prices will continue to strengthen for this book, definitely a very strong story. You do know the sales area and Ebay are extremely different.
  10. I would sell the Hawkguy and the DD 21's stat. I think prices have peaked on those.
  11. LCS had two copies left for $5 a pop.
  12. I should have clarified more. There have been a few threads with people selling comics before they go to the LCS to pillage. The whole concept just seems off. Nothing against them. If it works it works. If the buyer and seller are happy more power to them.
  13. I'm having problems with people selling comics before they actually have them. You can't even call it flipping, it's like pre meditated flipping.
  14. The problem was having the auction end the day after Christmas.
  15. Hey buddy... I think titles in the sci fi / brainy genre are really hot right now. Think Tank IS awesome and highly under-rated. Nowhere Men is also awesome, but too early to tell how awesome it will be. For example, I like Manhattan Projects too, but by issue #7 I was like, "I'm not sure where they are going with this series." HOWEVER, #8 brought it back home for me and I'm in love again. As it has been said, to each their own. I think NWM is here to stay for a while. We'll see. I'll go so far as to say it's non-superhero genres are what it is. I think there are 2-3 superhero books I enjoy.
  16. What is wrong with this guy?? You should go to work and take your mind off the hobbies.
  17. Didn't read it yet, have to reread 1-5. I don't think I'll know what's going on.
  18. Email them. They have terrific customer service from my experience.
  19. I know have 22 people watching my auction for #1 and #2. I have a strange suspicion that at least 20 of them are in this thread.
  20. Any interest in the TPB exchange? PM me Also any ideas about how to implement? I came up with the idea but have only a vague notion or two about. PM me Be cool to set something up with the community.
  21. There are plenty of comics with low print runs. The thing going for Nowhere Men is that it's actually good to read.
  22. Yeah, we discussed briefly in the other thread, it's pretty good. Side note: I thought it would be great to get some kind of TPB exchange thing going on the boards, get a chance for people to try something different. It seems like most people here in the Modern section have good tastes.
  23. A poor example of it. http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp320/leveret1/P1010405.jpg
