  1. I've seen you say this quite a few times. Are you saying that the later printings of Saga #1 are more rare or sought after?
  2. I thought Hawkeye would do well from the start. Great artwork and a great writer (when it's not a team book). I like that it's rising in price, not to make a profit, but that people are taking notice of it.
  3. Just glanced through some of the artwork on CBR. It looks like a nightmare. I mean that in a good way, but yes a nightmare.
  4. Some people can be a bit over zealous. They just want it to take off and be succesful so bad. Others can be just as bad in response by being very negative and all that jazz. It's easy to be right about a comic bombing though, most do. Is #3 out this week? Edit: I shouldn't say a comic bombing. I hate talking comics in an economic sense. There are plenty of example of great comic books to read that can be had for pennies.
  5. Quit triple posting. Quit calling people noobs, I think that was done in 07. Also, are you a previous board member? Seems like you just got here and calling FT a noob......crazy
  6. Ok, so who has cashed out from a modern that's heating up on ebay? Something modern, ebay, comics, hot, talk about it. A revival i was watching to see, closed out @ $70 for CGC 9.8. That's a good sign for it, if it can hold the line there. With no real rumors to support it in the speculators market, not making lower highs is key to setting a floor. http://www.ebay.com/itm/REVIVAL-1-CGC-9-8-W-1st-Print-SOLD-OUT-Seeley-Norton-Frison-/170908003276?nma=true&si=Fx8fnvQxPsFWjSDxW%2BZaSA%2FwYNM%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc What does that mean? "not making lower highs is key to setting a floor" It's making my head spin trying to figure it out.
  7. I don't know if it's heating up. But I have really liked the new Hawkeye. Great covers and interior art with good story telling. But......Hawkeye really hasn't had a lot of geek appeal. Plus, you should only give out tips after you've cashed out.
  8. It will be interesting if prices on ebay get a jump after Issue 3 or even after the first trade comes out. It seems as if some of the variants have cooled off a tad.
  9. I really didn't mean anything personal. The "you" in my post was more of a collective "you" or "we". My fault for not being clear on that. We're just arguing about arguing now.
  10. The all powerful dre spoken. I'm sorry, but this sort of hero worship is sickening. Monkey, Dre's mystical powers act in two ways. He can touch a book and it will be 9.9 He can also use the power of his mind to downgrade your 9.8s to 9.4's by purely thinking about them. I wouldn't go submitting any books in the next few months. You could be in for an unpleasant surprise. Dre is a great salesman, Full stop... Sorry! But who are you? Oh a legend according to Andy... And why I'm at it why do so many people in here (the rivival thread and wider modern section), seem intent on bad mouthing, trolling and making things uncomfortably personal towards other board members. It simply making this place a negative place to hang out. There is genuinely a lack of respect in this place at times and Dre is one of the board members that a lot of people respect, me included... I dont know what problem you have but this isnt really a nice way of behaving IMO In all honesty I just don't get all this, I left the boards a short while back and I am starting to regret coming back. I really want to address this. First, when I'm going through a thread and reading posts, it pains me to try and decipher what people are trying to say. I don't know if it's the bad spelling or horrific grammar. Maybe it's a comibination of both? I really want to read what you guys have to say but it just makes my head spin. You guys read comic books, right? Second, most people respect Beachbum, but he's in this to make money. Same with Larry'sComics. I have respect for both, I'm not badmouthing either of them. But they are in business to make money. Third, this "place" wasn't intended to make people feel good about themselves. There are going to be people with different views and opinions. Deal with it. Man up and get it out there. Don't get all whiny and say how negative this place is. I get really tired of that set of thinking. "Oh, people arent' agreeing with me, why are you being so negative?" What the hell is wrong with you. You have to talk and argue and listen. That is life, that is the world. People want to think that the internet is this great salvation. Where they can find people that think exactly the way they do, love the things that they do, agree with everything that they say. Wake the heck up. The internet is not the messiah reborn. It is just as cruel, judgmental, cynical, and diabolical as the real world. I just have this vision of board members following whatever someone says on here like blind cattle. This is a ridiculously long tangent that makes absolutely no sense. I'm hungover as hell and spent the night sleeping on both of my hands. Now my hands feel like two big sausage patties tickling ants in a bowl of sugar.
  11. I like the premise and the creative team. I'm defintely looking forward to reading it.
  12. Is it this you guys are talking about?? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Free-Comic-Book-Day-2012-REVIVAL-GUARDING-THE-GLOBE-2012-Image-Comics-/370640365494?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item564be327b6 Or something else? Edit: Nevermind found the article.
  13. He's already the best character. He's part with the possessed girl is the best part in the two issues so far.
  14. I got the impression that he is fake. Yet maybe he had the ability before or more likely will gain the ability later in the series.
  15. You could call in an order to DCBS
  16. Alright enough about shipping, maybe a different thread?? When does #3 ship?
  17. I don't know if I can honestly believe that statement. A guy loves a comic book so much that he goes out and buys 10 copies to support it? Plus you're talking about $30 a month....for one comic....for the month. There are PLENTY of other good stories to read out there, and Revival isn't even the best one. I personally have enjoyed MTG and Secret more. Also, someone is going to spend $30 on 15 minutes of entertainment. That sounds like entertainment of the adult kind to me. I partially agree with both of you here. Comics are relatively cheap as hobbies go. My golfing buddies dump $150 sometimes on a single round. Revival is a great story and I would buy it even if I wasn't selling a few. But, it's not my favorite storyline right now. I'm really digging The Manhattan Projects and am also reading Saga, ToT, and TWD (of course). Oh, I'm not going to argue with you there. There are some ridiculously expensive hobbies for people to get into. But even in our own hobby there is the upper echelon of collectors (the recent Tec #1 purchase comes to mind) that can afford to spend some money. But don't tell me that the guy buys 10 copies of a comic book to support the creative team and the comic. That's complete wildly_fanciful_statement. There is nothing wrong with wanting a comic book to be hot or increase in value. Deep down inside we all want every comic we own to skyrocket in value. Even if we don't want to sell just to know, "Yep, I was right about that one." It's just the free admissions of hoarding that is surprising me. It seems counter productive. You know people look at these boards. They see this thread. It may affect prices, it may not. BTW, I really just want to talk about the comic. Nothing we argue about changes anything but we can have a fun conversation about it.

  19. the 9.9 PGX for 55 dollars, was a mega deal. Whoever bought it yesterday is lucky they ALSO didnt ship to Canada, or all you would have saw was a sold sign. I don't know, $55 for a CGC 9.6 sounds like a bit much 9.2
  20. I meant with the hoarding. Just a tad scary is all.
  21. Millions of Canadian comic book collectors??? On a side note, this thread is beginning to look like the 90's.
  22. You keep saying that.....Where do you get this impression??? Unless I am mistaken an Alien has caused people to become emotionless and possessed their bodies. Didn't Seely come out and say that this wasn't an alien comic?
  23. You keep saying that.....Where do you get this impression???
  24. Where is the full out promotion at?
  25. It seems to be fluctuating between $30-$50. About double of what it was two weeks ago. It's amazing that the 1:10 variant can catch the same price or even more than the Third Eye Variant.
