  1. I still find the glare confusing. I had 3 bullseyes, and was off by one on the first book, but the Iron Man...I KNEW the white was glare, but I was seeing issues with the lower staple because of the white and since spine lines were mentioned and I couldn't see them, I lowered the grade a lot for both those issues. There are less glare lines lately, so there is an improvement, but I'm lost when I see the white lines, I mess up every time. Many other people seem to be OK with it...I guess. I'm not unhappy with the 5 points...I'm thrilled to be in the top half with so many great graders playing, but I wish they would do less very dark books, or fix the glare issue.
  2. Well, I did horribly on the Iron Man, but seemed to have gotten 3 completely right and only .5 off on the first one...not my worst round.
  3. Last but not least.. AND just in time to watch the grading contest;) is! Wonder Woman #107 CGC 6.5 , c/ow 1959 Sold to ThothAmon @20% 0ff The first full appearance of Wonder Girl and the Origin of her costume. A CGC 6.5 just sold for $460, Bin is $450.00
  4. Wonder Woman #67 CGC 6.5 c/ow 1954 sold to Change Ferris Wheel Cover! There are 22 on the Census. There are no recent CGC sales that I could find. A raw book graded good (2.0) by the seller (with pieces missing from the front cover) just sold on eBay for $98. Bin on this book is $425 Quote
  5. Wonder Woman #46, CGC 7.0 lt/ow 1951 Clock cover (is there such a subset?);) There are 33 on the Census. A 7.0 just sold this month for $552 Bin is $525 Quote
  6. Wonder Woman #43, CGC 6.0 ow/w 1950, There are 40 on the census, the Mile High was a 7.5, but it seems to have gone up a little. This book is in the top 25% (if I counted correctly) I don't think this book was ever pressed. A 6.5 sold last June for $960, I see it advertised as a War Cover, it certainly .looks like a war cover. I also see a 6.5 listed at $2750, so either this is a great bargain, or they are priced a bit high...Hopefully it's a bargain. The Prorated price using the sold book, not the one for sale, is $886.00 My Bin is $875 Someone mentioned "ripples" I had this book slabbed, it was not moisture damaged, there is a bit of dirt and maybe some slight bends. I took another picture in a different light so you could see (the picture under this one) I don't know why the first picture of the cgc # looks like ripples, there must have been shadows. I left the first picture in the spoilers so you could see. I also just found the scans from before my slab scanner croaked. The details are correct on the scans (2nd and 3rd pictures you see) the color is truer on the first picture which was takin with a cell phone.
  7. Wonder Woman #41 CGC ow/w 1950 Sold to storypapers There are 26 on the census, this book ties for the 7th highest A 5.0 sold for $375 this month. Prorated, the price would be $450 Bin is $425.00 Quote
  8. Wonder Woman #40 CGC 6.5 lt/0w 1950 , Sold to storypapers 29 blue labels, this one is tied for 6th highest. A 4.5 sold this month for $320, prorates to $462 Bin is $435.00 These are all nice covers, but this is one of my favorites. Quote
  9. Wonder Woman #36 CGC 7.5 C/ow Flying Saucer Story There are 19 on the census, this is the 4th highest The last sale close to this grade was in Oct 2023 for $780, prorated it would be $835. Bin is $825 Quote
  10. First book:) Wonder Woman #34, CGC 6.0 OW 1949 Sold to storypapers As with most of these, there have been very few sales. The most recent sale was Dec 2023 for a 4.0 at $260, I prorated the price and I came up with $390. Bin on this book is $375.00 Hard to get pictures that show the color without glare, so I am adding extras. These are not retouched.
  11. Take 20% off any remaining books, no further discounts, zelle pay or, checks or MO's only, shipping is not included. Thread will close tomorrow night (Sat) at midnight. This sale will consist of a few more books from my Wonder Woman collection, most are GA, one is SA. There are some really nice covers here. I have 8 books, all a little higher grade than the last batch. Rather than bore you with the story again, you can read it here;) First wins, whether here or in a PM, I'm the sold arbitrator of who wins., but tie is going to go to the person who posts in this thread if there is a tie;). I accept Zelle Pay, Checks, Money Orders or Paypal. Payment is due within 3 days unless we have made other arrangements before you post a take it.. If you don't think you can pay in 3 days, just let me know before you post a and we will hopefully work something out. I want to be able to ship anywhere, so shipping will be extra in order to be fair. I charge exact shipping, no fees added. There are no returns on these because they are graded by CGC. I am leaving the pictures with the best colors showing, but there are back covers and details I'm going to put into spoilers, so it doesn't look so messy.
  12. @Cman429 @Cman429 How come he gets two turns? ;) (trying to gently let you know there is a typo;)
  13. I will have a few more Wonder Woman GA slabs for tonight. I think they range from 6.0 to 7.5. I'm aiming for 7:30...that way I keep busy before I see the results of the grading contest ...it's safer for my fingernails;)
  14. Grades are in...I gave up staring and went with the old tried and true method of tossing sticky notes into the air and seeing what stuck;)
  15. I read somewhere that it was doing well. I'm not sure about @paperheart's 52 rating, but other people I know who saw it enjoyed it. It's definitely not Hamlet;) but I thought it was a good action movie. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and there were actually people in the theatre.
