  1. Nice idea, but they are stored frozen, and they defrost very quickly... lol...If you are in NY, you can drive up, it's only about 4 hours I've actually mailed blueberry cake to Greggy;) ..and no, I'm not mailing blueberry cake this week;) However...I will sell the recipe for either desert, both are family recipes and not in any cookbooks...$25.00 or best offer! All proceeds to Jim!
  2. I'd mail them out if we could do that, but the whipped cream filling won't ship well;) I think $25k is probably more realistic than $20k...would love to have that as our new goal. That way there would be an emergency cushion in case SSI doesn't kick in when it's expected, and stuff always happens.
  3. I got this from Jimbo a while ago...so these are the figures for today...and Merry Christmas to all who celebrate. "As of 5 P.M., we are tentatively at $16,883.80. GOD BLESS ... -jimbo(a friend of jesus)(thumbsu:
  4. This thread will be open for a while, unless everyone stops posting stuff or bumping it, I'm hoping it will stay visible for a while, once it leaves the first page, I don't close the thread, but I stop bumping it, because it's not fair to people trying to sell stuff on other threads. If for some reason a book does not sell here, but you still want to use it for a donation, MyComicShop has made a very generous offer, they will list the books with no commission for sale on their auction site ...probably consignment too, but I don't think we asked that, and send the money to JimJum. If you get frustrated with an offering that has not been taken, but want to send it to MCS, so Jim can get the funds...Crassus has the details. These are all great donations, just sometimes things don't match the people on the boards at that time...so it's a great option to have.
  5. I say this all the time...if it were not for all the great, kind, helpful people here, I'd be typing to myself...it's really a community endeavor! so thank you!
  6. Those were sold, Tamir...as a matter of fact, they are going to go to MCS to be sold again for Jim..There is a list of what is still available on page 14...and thank you!
  7. Just please don't post comics from a competing company...we can probably rationalize anything else worth rationalizing. I know we have had Legos in these threads, toys and there is NO problem with other aged comics. I put it here because the traffic is best here. CGC had been very very forgiving with "helping" threads and Kudos to them for allowing them.
  8. That's Canadian for ..."I'll (meaning Andy) will invoice each person individually, so I don't get confused"...you do speak Canadian, right? Or are there different dialects like we have here. I'm told Texans need a translator for us NYers;)
  9. Don't be sorry...what you did was more than generous...and please, no one who is in financial need should feel they need to do anything other than send best wishes. Jim understands that and so do the rest of us. I doubt there are very many people here who don't understand that money is sometimes tight. So thank you for being so selfless and Merry Christmas...so glad you bought your medicine! Feel better soon!
  10. Good morning everyone! Great donations, thank you. I know at the start of this I asked buyers to send invoices and then when David offered to help I changed it, so there might have been some confusion. At first I was getting notes from 2 people, so I thought we'd start sending them out. However, there was at least one who was missed from the beginning group. So...if you have not gotten an invoice, or you did one together and didn't copy me, so I know when the item is paid for...please let me know. If you already have an invoice going, just add me to the pm. If you need me to send one, just send a note and I'll add the buyer or the donor to the pm. Hope this makes some sense.
  11. I'm caught up on PMs and David kindly offered to do clean up in the morning, so I know the spreadsheet will be up to date. I won't be around for the late morning and early afternoon, I have a prior commitment. I like to do the updates about how much money has been raised to the penny, but I'm having a little trouble because only Jim can see the cash donations and he's been typing numbers to me, but it's hard for him, so I think we are going to estimate a little until he's a little better...which I hope will be soon. So this number does not include some of today's cash donations, nor any books that were purchased on his thread since we all started this "Helping" thread. I know that $4938.00 has been reported as paid for books donated. The cash amount donated as a straight cash donation I have on record (and it's more than this amount) is $3520.00. Jim and I agreed that the total is at least $9,000.00 so far Which is pretty amazing when you think about it. We have a ways to go...because a good friend who is a lot better with numbers than I am, said that $20,000 was too low a goal for Jim's expenses for 7 months...and I know my friend is correct. I hope to keep this going until he has a little bit of a cushion in addition the exact $$$ needed to survive until SSI kicks in. So great job everyone! Huge thanks to all of you and have a great night!
  12. @thirdgreenham Andy if you are making a group payment and need shipping from Canada, would you mind setting up the PMs? That way I can make sure I don't miss anything...Just let me know when payment is made...and many thanks!
