David Ayer's THE BEEKEEPER starring Jason Statham (2024)
skypinkblu replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I read somewhere that it was doing well. I'm not sure about @paperheart's 52 rating, but other people I know who saw it enjoyed it. It's definitely not Hamlet;) but I thought it was a good action movie. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and there were actually people in the theatre.- 34 replies

I know how you feel...good people are here for sure. I'm going to remind everyone to please join Mike's grading contest;) if you have not already... I'm not closing this up, if I hear from MCS I will post more...and of course anyone can list books if they have some to list. A few people mentioned doing that, but I have not seen them yet.

David Ayer's THE BEEKEEPER starring Jason Statham (2024)
skypinkblu replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
We went today with another couple. My girlfriend and I LOVED it, our husbands liked it. I don't think they are as enamored with Statham as we are. It kept me awake,- 34 replies

As of 1/14/24 at 4:40 p.m. we are tentatively at $34,052.04. GOD BLESS ... -jimbo(a friend of jesus)"

Heritage's Next Event Auction has started posting books !
skypinkblu replied to Gotham Kid's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Now I'm going to have to STOP myself, I was just going to Google, because I had absolutely NO idea what anyone was talking about. I just figured maybe it was kind of scarce because I have rarely seen one. -
This book, Love Diary, is in the current MCS Auction https://www.mycomicshop.com/auctions?agid=621&sn=jimjum12 These are books scheduled for the next MCS auction https://www.mycomicshop.com/auctions?agid=623&sn=jimjum12 This link SHOULD have Jim's entire line up of books at MCS (at least so far) https://www.mycomicshop.com/stores/jimjum12

We know there is one book in the MCS auctions now...and if they let me know when the next ones will be sold, I will update here for that as well, so people can bid. I can't give an exact figure, but a LOT of people have helped here. There were 185 donations of books or other comic related items donated. My guesstimate is that about 100 other people donated funds through PP or by check/MO Then there were the buyers of the items donated. One day when someone has a lot of time, they can count everything up, but the participation here has been amazing.

Some days, you just need a box of tissues...good tissues for good mushiness... This was my message from Jim, today. " You guys. We have broken 33K w/ a tentative total of $33,115.94" But as the guy on whatever tv commercial says...WAIT there is more! MyComicShop received the books they bought in the thread from Buscema's Avengers and they are adding them to the books they have recieved from a number of people, that will be sold on their site with the proceeds going to Jim. So if we don't reach $35k, it's going to be damned close to it... I'm not "closing" this thread, but I'm just going to bump it once this weekend with a final update from Jim (unless there is major activity) and I will update when we get the final figures from MyComicShop. If donors wish to leave their books on this thread, then they will be up for sale for the near future. I'm not sure how I can express how wonderful I think you all are. I want to say something profound, but it's beyond me...so I will just say this to ALL of you...

Thank you all...for being so kind...and those are wonderful offerings! Someone wrote to me before to apologize for not buying anything. His note made me remember that I should mention that I have Jim's PP address in case anyone wants to make a cash donation. I know we said that many pages ago, but it gets lost. Every small donation adds up...so if you would like his PP account, or his address to send a check, just PM me.

Wonder Woman #52 from 1952. This was one of the harder issues to find while I was completing my run. I never had it slabbed because of the grade. It's still a little nicer than most low grade copies I see around, not that there are so many, but I have looked. There are 29 on the census if you are looking for scarcity. The books in the 50's are especially hard to find. 1952 which had an odd page count, 10 pages on each side of the staple. There is a piece detached lower right at the bottom of the spine, a 2"+ split top of spine and the 2 other small pieces out of the front. The detached piece will be in a bag on the back of the backing board. Pages are in the Cr/OW range. Color on the cover is nice. It should grade at least 2.0, I wouldn't be shocked at 2.5. $175.00 shipped U.S. or Canada, all goes to Jim. Now $150 shipped SOLD

I have very good news today...from Jim:) twofold, the numbers and the water jug:) We can definitely make it to $33k which I believe will be the 2nd largest amount we've raised as a forum. I'm hopeful that we can make it to $35k. Several people mentioned donating something in the past 10 days...I know it's a busy time, but if you were thinking about it, now would be a good time, please. That way I can stop interfering with the people trying to have sales here...and I will stop worrying about Jim needing a food bank. From Jim! "At a quarter till noon, 1/07/24, we are tentatively at $32,957.99 I'm told they ran out of flower emojis and had to order new ones. Thank you, my friends. GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) Still a bit of good and bad, filled my own water jug yesterday. I'm having to watch my grumpiness I have a LOT to be thankful for. "
