I just dont get it.
If it happened 5 years ago there is a good chance I wouldn't even remember why I was angry in the first place.
You should all just LET IT GO. It's unhealthy and borderline person_without_enough_empathyy. Hormone shots might help.

It would seem that he doesn't want to be contacted by you. I'm guessing that he gave you a chance to complete the deal within the 30 day time limit, and you chose not to. Anyhow, I am sure he has/will see your post.Hello EveryoneI was added to the probation list after an altercation with Pirate about two years ago, and since then I have tried very hard to be more professional on the boards, and at the same time, amend my situation with Anthony. Over the last couple of months, I have sent him several PM's offering to purchase the books from our deal that I had backed out on, and he never responded, and then I simply offered to paypal him the $20 that was owed with or without the books, but he never replied to that either. Most recently I tried to PM him asking how he would like to proceed so that we could both be done with this, only to find that I'd been added to his ignore list. Because of this, I'd like to ask someone to please ask Anthony to contact me so that we can settle this on his terms. I hope it does not appear that I'm am trying to smear him or oust him in any way, I just simply didn't know how to contact him now that I'm on his ignore list, and I desperately wish to resolve this issue in a professional manner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Travis
Agreed. As you say it was a couple of years ago. That bridge likely burned long ago.

I got this in and I absolutely love it. I have several copies but this is the first slabbed copy I have had access too and had to jump on this one. This will look nice in my new comic room.

I think that ASL starter kit is newer, I've never seen it. Gunslinger used to get good money, it may still. Flat top too. Unless the others are unpunched not sure how much more you'll get.

I have a friend here at work who is a prominent poster on BGG and has the largest game collection Ive ever seen...maybe 1000 or more board games. He is interested in 4 or 5 of them. I dont think any of them will make me a big chunk of cash but I can probably get my money back and maybe a little extra.

So I dropped by an estate sale less than a block from my house and came across a large collection of Avalon Hill and a few other companies board games. At $5.00 each I had to make an offer and got 21 games for $75.00.
Not comics but a cool find nonetheless.
Very cool. Did they have any D&D stuff?
Nope...nor comics which is what I was really looking for, of course. I have played most of them in the past but its been...15, 20 years maybe. Ill probably keep the ones with easier rules and sell the more complicated ones....my Grognard days are over. I dont have the stamina for it anymore.

Ill be in touch with Yannis. No ones blaming you and if it came across that way im sorry but i NEVER said selll the book back to him so....

So I won this on Heritage.
Swamp Thing #1 Western Penn Pedigree
Was more than I would normally pay for a book but this is a key issue for me. One of my favorite characters on a cover drawn by one of my favorite artists.
This one is going to CGC very soon.

These came in this week. Im having a lot of fun collecting these books.
Fun books indeed. Are you going for all the 25c 70s DCs?
I am.....and Im thinking of expanding that to all the DC Giant SA/BA books. But right now Im having fun collecting these...and Ive started to dabble in Neal Adams covers as well sort of by default as you can see.

They look very nice, but nothing would stop sunlight or indoor UV lighting from the comic.
That has always been my biggest worry. I've never hung a book on my walls for fear of fading. Has anyone had any experience with this? I worry that even interior light could ruin a book...
A window-less room where the lights are only on when I'm in there - I'm not worried:
UV protection built into the frame isn't as important as what mschmidt is saying here--if you're going to hang comics and you don't want the colors to fade, you HAVE to control the light into the area ENTIRELY and keep it dark the entire time people aren't in the room. Sounds simple, but it really isn't. You have to use curtains that allow in absolutely zero light to the room if there are any windows at all...I almost never see people use the right types of curtains, or even if they do, I rarely see them used correctly, the rooms still get bathed with ambient sunlight. It also needs to be a room you don't go into very often, which is the opposite of what you end up wanting--you typically want to show a book off, so people tend to put them in offices, dens, or computer rooms where there's a lot of human traffic that leads to longer periods of light exposure. If you want to hang something in a higher-traffic area, make sure it's something you don't care much about, as you can expect it to fade over a 5-to-20-year timespan. I eventually gave up on this because I go in and out of most areas I'd actually want the comics to hang in, so I just hang low-grade cheapies that present well via the frame--and I'll eventually replace those with larger, poster-sized blowups because they're better than comics for wall-display purposes--they present MUCH better and are easier to see across a room.
As for the interior lighting, low-wattage standard light bulbs are great. I always forget this, but standard white bulbs are flourescent, right? Whereas the long bulbs people use in office buildings are incandescent? Or do I have that reversed? If I'm right that long-bulbs are incandescent, that's not what you want to use around paper and art at all, that type of light fades art--standard bulbs have much weaker light that minimizes fading.
I have decided on not displaying any of my comic art or books on the wall due to the damage over time. I think high rez blow ups of my favorite books in a decent frame will look just as nice and my books are still available for viewing if anyone would like.

I do enjoy Flea Markets, Garage Sales and Antique shops. But then I also enjoy collecting other things. I'm always looking for Comics, Depression Glass (glass of all types really), and Dragons.
Still have yet to make the big score though I did run across some Werewolf by Nights, Tomb of Dracula and Frankenstein at less than a buck a book once. Comics do show up on occasion.

Everyone just stop posting....please. It's embarrassing.

Wake me when it's October.
Agreed.
That picture is just so inappropriate for this forum.
Girls with big beers are inappropriate?
More the uncouthe remark in the image than the image itself.

Friend/long time business contact...doesnt really matter.
Seller was wrong. Appears that the buyer is also culpable.
Craptastic thing to do to someone for a *spoon* funny book.

it is well within the confines of human natureboy, another day, another mess on this board.it is a damn shame really.
The boards are a pie slice of human society. You'll get everything in here like you get it out there.
Overall, the fact that a lot of us know and deal with each other on a regular basis helps keep things in check.
To be fair, people mostly only speak up when there is a problem...so you only see the squeaky wheel. You take the well oiled, quiet wheels for granted even though they are there all the time.
mmm...Pie.

Got to give Kudos to the following....
Tabasco Joe for some beautiful Unexpecteds..really sharp books.
DCman for some fantastic One Dollar GI Combats in high grade for a great price.

Got these in today. I am having much fun adding these great books to my collection.

I love these...
First ones I ever picked up as I like the giant sized DC books but I can see me getting more of this series in the future.
-
Exactly! I sell them, not collect them. Anything that touches my hands now is purely to flip and make a quick buck before the bubble bursts in everyones face.
This will go down in the history books. He would've done equally as well if he burned the moneyBy the way, this is well on its way to being the greatest thread ever and would make a great Mastercard commercial:The first New Mutants #98 CGC 9.9: $12,250.
10 sessions with a psychiatrist: $3,500
The notoriety gained from making the most ridiculous comic purchase ever: Priceless
Says the guy who sells ultra high grade niche books.
honesty
Walking up to your wife and telling her that you'd bag Jennifer Biel (or actress if your choice) if you had the chance is honesty too. Doesn't make it expedient.
On the contrary, I think the subsequent knee to your nutsack would arrive most expediently after your little bout of "honesty".
My wife would just laugh and tell me to do the dishes when I wake up.

Guilty by association is an unfair yet very real fact of life. He should really be ashamed of himself for putting you through all of this.
