  1. Different strokes? Sounds to me like somebody drank 5 gallons of Hater-ade. Paperheart= Kevin Feige burner
  2. Ummm... Resolving the plot, unmasking the Riddler (the films main antagonist), the awesome pitch black Hallway fight by gunlight, Selina gaining closure with Falcone, the introduction of the Joker, and mainly...Batman gaining the trust of Gothamites by saving the city, changing their view of him as a mere vigilante... all of this happened in the last hour. Superfluous? I have a different understanding of what that word means.
  3. Just curious... what about the last hour of this movie was 4 times worse than the first 2 hours? This oughtta be good...
  4. The fact that Marvel fan boys are on this thread trying to justify slander against this particular movie tells you that DC is back on track. Kevin Feige rewatches this movie over and over in his nightmares. I love all comic movies if they're good, irrespective of publisher basis. That being said, Marvel couldn't make a movie this well acted, directed, gripping and emotional if they had EVERY A list actor available for 1 film. This film was essentially a masterclass on storytelling through film. The only 2 gripes I had were Pattinsons initial facial expressions whilst visiting Alfred in the hospital, and the Bat music soundly vaguely similar to Vaders entry from Star Wars. Other than that... exemplary. Have to put it up there with: Watchmen Dark Knight Batman 1989 Guardians of the Galaxy Sin City
  5. @shadrochprobably thought Eternals and Shang Chi were gripping pictures.
  6. Some choice covers here, Phillip. Congrats.
  7. Picked up a Mag with a sweet cover and great old crime stories from May of 1945.
  8. I think you should move that Queen of the Black Coast into my pile
  9. Yes!!! Did a big trade with a fellow boardie yesterday, and it was alot of fun. It took us all day of back and forth, when we had time. We were able to put it to bed last night. We both got some great books out of it by moving books we owned, for books we wanted. If nothing else, it's great for entertainment when the boards are slow.
  10. Horror Stories Spider (Withering Death) Planet Stories Complete Stories Have been traded.
  11. Alright, as promised... here's a couple books from my stash that I'd be willing to trade. My wantlist is HJ WARD covers, other shudder pulps, would like a Weird Tales with the first cover appearance of Conan, or anything else with scantly clad ladies, bondage, torture and other debauchery. Send me what you got if you see something you like. I'll list every issue, date and condition assignment, to go along with pictures. If you need additional pictures of a particular book, Let me know. Basically doing this for fun and to liven up the pulp boards. Enjoy. 12. Yeah, we need some action. I'll post some books for trade, here tonight, unless any objections come forth.
  13. Exactly. These are more common and abundant than one would think. A lot of guys will conflate Webb for Baker covers, usually noting Crime Reporter as the comparable... but if you know the two artists well, it's easier to spot the copied style.
  14. Almost certain, that's a Robert Webb cover, not just interior art. He did a ton of work for fiction house, including covers, and often worked on the same issues as Baker. They do have a similar style, but those eyes are unmistakable. They have an intensity that is just slightly different than Baker and Kamen.
  15. This thread needs a little love. Question for the fellow boardies... is it kosher to list books you would like to trade here, without running a dedicates sales thread? Thoughts?
  16. That's how we do it in the 21st century. A style I like to call Baller/Futuristic.
  17. Totally agree. Have had that conversation many times. I've seen people list it as "Great Buck Rogers Cover". Makes me cringe.
  18. Wholeheartedly agree with your statement. My question is one of relevance. Will Tarzan be relevant again? I don't know. I can't see it happening. Similar to a once saturated market by Westerns. They WERE pop culture. Now you can throw a good one in here and there... even a couple of TV series, but the dominance has had its day. The cover of Tarzan is a valid point for the collector in all of us. We all know Strange Tales 110 would be a far more valuable book if it had The Master of the Mystic Arts on the cover.
  19. Fortunately, bought all of these in exemplary condition, before they got hot.
  20. Oh, but I have read some Tarzan... it's just not that interesting to me. Like I said, kinda redundant. The Backstreet Boys once took the world by storm, too. I don't find myself wanting to listen to their music.
  21. My opinion is that Tarzan is a pretty one dimensional character. How many different ways can he save the jungle, or go on an adventure? There's source material, but pretty redundant if you ask me. I feel characters like Conan and Buck Rogers are much more rich in source material that is interesting and marketable. That's why I was surprised at the price for the low grade copy. It's not a character I'd bet on, or have an interest in collecting, but to each their own.
