  1. Cannot believe the Oregon Coast 9.6 White Vampirella 7 only did $750 with BP tonight. Someone stole a book.
  2. He must have been narrating TED at that time. Not his fault.
  3. After reading through the pages of this thread, I've established 2 opinions. One: HOS is a no Brainer here. Two: @TC33is a Saint. I've sold many books here on the boards to many of you, and if somebody pulled this ish with me and tried to ruin my reputation AND steal money from me, i wouldn't be nearly as kind or benevolent as the Panther.
  4. I'd argue that Neal did it better, regardless of layout. You know... the jumping off the page thing.
  5. Adams all day. Of course I prefer DC to Marvel as well, but Adams just crushed Batman, Green Lantern, Deadman, etc in such a way, that even today its hard to find comparables. Then you switch to Marvel and I still think I'd take most Adams Avengers covers over that of Kirbys. Different eras, and both GOATs for different reasons, but my preference is Adams and it's not close.
  6. Sweet. You'll have to post a picture of that. My kind of coat.
  7. As soon as I read this, I immediately thought of Macklemore's 'Thrift Shop'.
  8. Just one pulp this week. The color is beyond rich on this copy. Very happy to add another Parkhurst to the pile.
  9. Was reading the story of Frank Brunners career in Comic Book Artist 6, last night. The kind things that Frank said about Neal and the type of philosopher/mentor he was at Marvel during the Brodsky transition, really gave me a greater appreciation for a guy I already had an immense admiration for. This is a sad day indeed.
  10. Those Dr Yen Sin and the Secret Six were choice.
  11. Had Frank Brunner do this for me years ago. Always love to see Vampi vs a Wolf. Nice piece!
  12. The fact that there is no spire top above the ovals on the F is the biggest pause for concern. I've seen it without, but rarely with a thin pen like that. There are other things like the A at the end of the name that look nearly unmistakable, but just too many question marks overall.
  13. Exactly, House of Secrets 92 and other first appearances from around that time period come to mind. It's a pitch black book, tough in grade... first appearance of an off brand anti hero, with a cult following for the cover artist. Yet, there are still double the copies of HOS 92 on census at 140. Last 9.2 did 7k recently but the one at Heritage (ending Sunday) seems poised to beat that. Has always seemed to me that Vampirella, with Frazetta for the cover artist, #1 issue in the run, and first appearance of a staple bad girl like Vampi, is poised for much more growth than her competitors. Undervalued to be sure. Wish I would have kept all my duplicates.
  14. Seems like a good price for grade anyway. I think the last 6.5 sold close to that.
  15. Still, for books from that era, and as popular as it is 70 copies in NM- or better is a very small population, comparatively speaking.
  16. In that case, more notable sales on the Bay, the last couple days.
  17. I dated a girl once with an odd end... once.
