Not me. I only own a little over 100 slabs, and they aren't susceptible to this problem. None are in our guy's target value range, most couldn't have MJ inserts, and those that could, aren't labelled that way. If they have them, it's a freebie. I do have some MJI comics, not a lot, but all are raw.

I could understand if you sent it in raw but how are you 100 percent sure if the slabs been thru 10 or 15 people.

Here are some more - again if the pic is small it's all i have. If there are duplicates they are from duplicate auctions and may help. One interesting thing I found - in 2016 he sold a CBCS Hulk 181 with "CGC it " in the title. I feel even an insufficiently_thoughtful_person wouldn't do that if they had swapped out a MVS missing book for a good one...

If you don't like the post, ignore it. End of story.

If I want to splice atoms, I'm going to do it. Stop telling people how to post. Your living room is not my laptop.

I didn't beat you up. I explained, based on my extensive experience (I subbed my 1st books in 2003), 1000's of submissions and 100's if not 1000's of personal, direct discussions with CGC.

You were speculating out of your butt and I disagreed.

When you started to make it personal about me, the beatings started, and they will continue for as long as they need to. :peace:

It puts doubt in peoples minds what’s in that slab is not the real thing and I’m sure people are worried!

    We should start a poll.

    1. Briva3 is the only guy

    2.  Ok, probably 1-4 guys are this sinister.

    3. At an exponential growth pattern, and the dark web, there are probably at least 25 guys that are now doing this.

    4. 50% of reholders since 2020 are now fraudulent lower graded copies

I mean, who the :censored: knows, and who has ventured a guess so far? Why would the guess be relevant?

There’s 9 billion people on earth it could be thousands out there!

Until someone with deep pockets and 100k's worth of books takes them to court. You advertise as a grading expert that certifies books and condition, the law will treat you as an expert.

I could also see a lawer bring a class action suit on the same basis.  This is the US, people love to sue, and we have lots of layers looking for work.

I can see tables of grading experts called as witnesses to argue over books in court.  Could be very entertaining.

Exactly imagine someone breaking out there 8.0 Fantastic four 1 for a regrade and it comes back restored.

As we approach 75 pages, I'm worried that the details of the seller and the scam will get lost in all the side conversations and bickering.  Here's my attempt at summarizing what we know right now.

I know this is a rapidly-evolving situation, and stuff will likely change in coming days/weeks, but hopefully this helps distill the thread down to a digestible level.

Thinking about all the logistics involved with this scam, I find it hard to believe that the seller is the only person involved in this scheme. Yes, this person is likely coordinating this stuff with CGC and selling the slabs, but I bet he has a couple of guys in the back room doing all the grunt work. There's no way this person could do all this at once without making mistakes earlier.

    Inside job!

Trust CGC will do everything they can to isolate this to one person, but since it's a scam that's worked remarkably well on some very high dollar books, over and over again, we may never know how many tried and succeeded doing the same thing. It could be one person doing it, it could be 20, it could be 200 people. We only even know about this because someone was sharp enough to spot the obvious problems on a swapped-out book when one of the miscreants got too greedy.

If nothing else comes of this, at least now I have a pretty arguable reason why I've seen so many 9.8's that sure as hell looked like 9.2s

It could be tens of thousands of books out there that’s why I don’t like slabs!

FYI, here's a pic showing this sellers 20 biggest sales since 2011.

That JSCampbell Wolverine cover... He apparently sold it, twice. In 2022, and again in 2023.

How the frig can this guy afford the eBay fees?!? Surely, eBay has a limit to the number of times the guy can claim no payment before they cut him off.

Market manipulation and swooping out books could be a inside job?
