  3. Exciting Comics #59 January 1948 Airbrush cover by Alex "Xela" Schomburg This book has been high on my want-list ever since I saw a tiny b&w version years ago in some old Overstreet guide, but I never found a nice copy. Well this showed up on Metropolis and I clicked the "Buy Now" button about 10 seconds later. 3 days from order to my doorstep and all is well -- thanks guys. Airbrush cover and a fetching Judy of the Jungle story drawn by Frazetta SOLD Shameless plug - this frees up a presentable VG+ undercopy, PM if you're interested SOLD

  7. Hey man there's already a line and it starts right behind me
  8. U S A ! U S A! U S A! There are quite a few classic covers in this run.....awesome
  9. Just picked this up from America's #1 Comic Dealer Startling Comics #30, November 1944
  10. Fabulous! Love those small-logo Detectives
  11. This was the first cover Murphy drew for DC -- though not his first published. There's a looseness and precision to the way that the monster is drawn that, to me, represents the very best of his work. Loose precision? Looks like the monster is wearing a loose sweater on his arms, but he has been going to the gym regularly. What a cool cover, I love it!
  12. This is on my "must buy" list, please keep us updated with any changes in publishing dates!
  13. I recently picked up this Real Life Comics #27 (Jan 1946) D copy. Although I love Schomburg covers, I don't usually pick up his Real Life books, however this one interested me because of the early Atomic Bomb reference. I decided to crack it open from the CGC case (also a first) so I could read the Atom Bomb story. Two things I have learned from this experience 1) opening a CGC slab is a very nerve-wracking process, and 2) there's no Atom bomb story in the book -- only a reference to it on the inside front cover from the editor.
  14. Nice to see you let your books out of their Kennel every once in a while!
  15. It is an odd-one -- this is her only cover appearance in this costume, as far as I know. She went to the bare-midriff costume for later appearances, and dropped the hat.
  16. Considering the premium for the extra .4 grade would have cost at least $1800, my wallet agrees with you. That's not to say I wouldn't go for the extra grade or pedigree, depending on the book.
  17. Exciting Comics #53 Cover by Alex Schomburg Here's a recent pickup. My consolation prize for not getting the Church copy (9.6) on one of the recent Heritage auctions. This frees up a very nice undercopy, PM if you're seriously interested.
  18. I've always been a fan of this classic cover...Beware! King Kull Marvel Family #77, November 1952
  19. More Fun #54. For me, this classic cover transcends "comic-books" straight into "art"
  20. Well don't keep us in suspense -- does the sister live or die?
  21. Or, it would buy you 16 unopened copies of an 80's Nintendo game
  22. Very cool, I haven't seen that before. When is the "next annual" survey? I'd like to participate next time. A lot of my favorites are represented....It's great (and very surprising) to see Action #2 in the Top Ten
  23. ...And also because maybe that's a 3rd-print Superman
