  1. Got this one from Ebay recently. I've always liked this cover by Alex Schomburg. The lead story "The Dragon Awakens", attempts to tell a 3000-year history of China in 12 pages. I think the story needs to be updated, it ends with their quest to build a "dynasty of democracy that will live forever"....wonder how that turned out?
  2. Another "gotta have it" classic cover! Send it to CGC by all means. Unless you plan on reading it again and again which is also but if you only got it for the cover then submit it! Thanks! I got it in from a guy who was selling a small GA collection that was his GRANDMOTHERS, not knowing what was he had, and this was in the stack. You don't wanna know what I paid.... let's just say I got a good deal on it. Oh, and I have read it. I had to at least once! The cover's still the best part, of course! Looks like a very nice copy of a great book - congrats! I never get tired of that one
  3. I bid on that Action as well, but you can see how it turned out for me. Looked like a really nice copy, how is the back cover?
  4. Awesome book MCMiles, congrats. Man that old logo was really HUGE wasn't it? Seems to leave hardly any room for the artwork. I much prefer the logo that started with issue #9, although it was even pretty big.
  5. Very nice pickup...that's an issue I'm looking for too
  6. What's so funny about a half naked dude trying to defend himself against an armor plated elephant (A.P.E.?) that has a half-naked jungle girl strapped to it's side while another fellow tries to shoot him with a machine gun from the elephant-armor-turret??? Oh wait, that is pretty funny -- carry on!
  7. Looks like some sort of election night coverage map there. Red States, Blue States and..... Joker States!
  8. Very nice. Baker was phenomenal
  9. Yeehaw, recent Ebay win. This one has nice bright greens, blues & reds orange, I've seen a few copies that were all faded out. Bonus feature: heroic use of a fire-extinguisher Black Terror #10 May 1945
  10. I'm super happy about this new arrival! Black Terror #10 May 1945
  11. With friends like that, who needs dealers? Cool book!
  12. You would fully realize any loss by selling it now (if you paid an unrestored price for it). Maybe someday restoration of books will be come less of an issue, as it seems to be much more of an accepted practice in other areas of collectibles. That is an extremely good looking book. If the purple label is bothers you, there is always the option of de-slabbing it.
  13. By Far this my Favorite Frank Frazetta Famous Funnies (say that FIVE times fast)
  14. Sweet book. Nice to see that she's wearing such sensible shoes to her, um... "going away party"? How do you say "Sayonara" in uh, Japanese?
  15. Thrilling Comics #51 December 1945 I picked this up from Robert Beerbohm's Ebay store. I'm not a huge fan of the Commando Cubs covers, but I've always liked this one with Mt Fuji in the background. There are a couple of back cover tears and enough damage keep it down in the 5.0 range, but it was accurately graded and I liked the price.. and it looks real pretty in the mylar! He shipped it incredibly fast, too -- top notch!
  16. The hero has big-head-itis....listen to me criticize FF I'm so ashamed....
