  1. GoldenEye is making its return to home consoles with a release on XBOX (Game Pass only for individual, Rare Replay owners get it free of charge/with future purchase of said collection. So far no details on whether you can purchase the game by its lonesome.) and Nintendo Switch.
  2. It is certainly a really great format that really preserves the production values of the film when done right in terms of aspect ratio and color palette (that is when the restoration is done right and we don't have any directors/restorers who think they're "artistes"). The 4Ks of Escape from New York, Spartacus, Gattaca, and For a Few Dollars More have been personal favorites. May your UHD experience be prosperous and your physical media collection bountiful!
  3. Ironically I learned of Moorcock through the fact the American heavy metal band Cirith Ungol used the artist for his books on their album covers. Lo and behold it only took four years, but I finally read Elric of Melniboné! (Not a fan of Gaiman's foreword though ).
  4. Looks interesting. Having Peter Weller involved is obviously a nice pull, just hopefully the interface isn't as spartan as the trailer makes it out to be:
  5. He also did Ace's Space Invader record in 2014 which I thought was pretty neat as a sort of throwback. Shame to see the man pass as his artwork was phenomenal
  6. The movie itself may not be the best adaptation of the Arachknight, but Maguire definitely gave the character that humanistic aspect that made the character so relatable to youths (both past and present) in the first place. Definitely not the best superhero movie ever (Marvel or no), but still pretty exceptional as far as films from the early 2000s go, with Peter's constant grappling of morality (whether it was his relationship with Uncle Ben, saving Mary Jane or the kids, or even his dealing with Green Goblin/Norman, et cetera et cetera) as well as the cathedral fight being my personal highlights from the film. I personally am happy that it's around nonetheless and along with 2 has a very special place in my heart as being a "zoomer" (to put in the parlance of our times) I grew up with these films and they developed my interest in comic books by and large (although if we want to get into personal favorites of Stan Lee's actual work in the books I treasure his work on Fantastic Four tenfold in comparison to the Spidey comics).
  7. for those who weren't interested in the default eggshell white of the PS5: https://blog.playstation.com/2021/12/13/new-dualsense-wireless-controller-colors-arrive-next-month-followed-by-new-ps5-console-covers/
  8. So circa 2012 13 year old me was in a Barnes and Noble and had my curiosity piqued when I saw an issue of Superior Spider-Man issue 8 and Avenging Spider-Man issue #19. Reading those developed my interest and made me catch the bug but I always wanted to read the original source material but never had enough funds for omnibuses and finding digital issues online was still a bit of an enigma. I eventually got bored of Marvel's bland writing style and (even then) horrible artwork, and discovered Spawn in 2015 and was a devoted fan til 2020, then Witchblade toward the end of it's original run in November of 2015. My passion for collecting issues has plummeted significantly due to the economic troubles brought on by the virus, but now I've finally been buying the omnibuses I've always wanted (i.e. Sandman, V for Vendetta, Preacher, etc.) and still stick around here to remind me of my time in the hobby.
  9. Words can't express how much I miss Mortal Kombat(s) 1-3, Rampage World Tour, the first two Gauntlet games, and the T2 arcade game. Veering off the arcade side of things, though, Baldur's Gate, Morrowind, Fallout 1&2, and the Wizardry series have kept me on PC as an overall mainstay. I'll probably be skipping the PS5/XSX gen assuming this isn't the last, though. Some highlights that I definitely enjoyed on the PS4 were the Metro series, Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, Witcher III, and Days Gone. Truly a wonderful decade for gaming the 2010s was.
  10. eh, honestly never been a fan of Miles Morales, so I might pass on this. Glad Kraven is finally getting some public exposure, and also from what I've heard Tony Todd from Candyman will be voicing Venom (not Eddie Brock, though). Hopefully they make the open world have some more quests, too. Graphics look gorgeous!
  11. While I wouldn't go so far as to say it's "bad" (in the context of being low quality in writing, production etc.), I'd say most of it I've seen in one form or another and am generally just sticking to the original concepts or formats. Regardless though, I do love streamers for the bulk of catalogue movies (which I'm happy that they didn't get shafted or left to rot along the passages of time just because of preconceptions of people in my age demographic or people under the age of forty having never heard of one title or another) and it helps make it easier to discover new gems for my blu ray library (I am also forever indebted to Kino Lorber and Criterion for their remarkable eye and taste for such films) as well as not having to worry about those pesky streamers "tweaking" certain films to appease modern audiences .
  12. I know, I would've loved to see the Yuuzhan Vong. That would've been thrilling as trilogy arc if they properly molded it!
