  1. Hey Frederic, great idea for a thread!

Are some of these books my former CGC beauties that you deslabbed, or did you pick up some nice raw copies? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Either way, a really cool bunch of books. 893applaud-thumb.gif

ST 103, 106, 116 & 120 were bought raw and then slabbed (except for 106, I did not re-scan them once slabbed) In fact, ST 106 was my first purchase on eBay and I got it at a great price grin.gif

As for your former beauties, I still have ST 117 & 118. thumbsup2.gif

shy.gif Your former ST 120 is in the caring hands of another forumite, the one that you originally sold it to...

  2. In an attempt to lure those mysterious Strange Tales collectors, I decided to start this thread! If some of them post scans of some of their high grade ST, this should be a blast!

I'll start with some of my favorites from my modest collection...

ST 103 CGC 8.0 White Mass. Copy

    ST 104 CGC 8.5 OW

    It's your turn now! thumbsup2.gif

  3. The whole in the cover on that Pacific Coast 47 on Colmore is a bit much for me. Since I know its there, I'd just stare at it every time I gt the book out.

If that hole is where I think it is (I tought it was discoloration!), I'm surprised Kraven is still standing up 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

  4. From the recent Vault auctions...... with thanks to Frederic9494 for the heads up! thumbsup2.gif

Date stamp compares almost exactly with the one on this book, a verified Green River.....

    Congrats Red! thumbsup2.gif

Out of curiosity, was the match as good with the other red stamped JIM in that auction (#95) ? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

  5. Not sure I'm going to be in the running for the #32 D copy next month as I have a feeling that it could push over 5 bills. 893crossfingers-thumb.gif Thre are a couple other books in that run that I like but the Cap's in the 70's really have my attention. These will not go cheap so I might just be a bystander.

I'm curious to see if the market will be able to absorb such a big number of GA books at the same time at record breaking or high prices (especially if one thinks that some collectors might hold back a bit considering there's a lot of books from that pedigree that will be released for the first time on the market this year)

Of course, that's a non-issue if the reserves are pretty low...

  6. Another killer ST Frederick, nice. Here's one of my favorite Atlas covers:

Same to you! Very nice copy (VF?) thumbsup2.gif

I hope your keeping some ammo for the upcoming Heritage auctions, there are some sweeet Subby in that 'D" pedigree... Good luck to you if you're going after some of them!

  7. Here's my latest purchase for my ST run ...yay.gif

WOW!!!! What did you find that beauty?!!! cloud9.gifcloud9.gifcloud9.gif

Now you're gonna have to upgrade your entire 8.5 Strange Tales collection to 9.0 poke2.gif.GOD BLESS...

    -jimbo(a friend of jesus) thumbsup2.gif

In fact, I picked this beauty because I was not able to get the 8.5 copy that I had my eye on (at a decent price)...eventually, I will downgrade sorry.gif (not degrade 27_laughing.gif) this one to an 8.5 copy, ideally via a trade. So, no, I won't start to upgrade the rest of my ST run (it's hard to find them and expensive enough already!)

'till then, I'll enjoy having this one!
