  1. Simply mesmerizing BZ, Simply mesmerizing.
  2. Seems to me, a pedigreed Slightly resto Marvel #1 beats out a Mod Resto Tec #27 but Tec #27 is a classic. I mean how many Human Torch movies have there been eh?
  3. That was six monthes well spent!!! Great batch of books bedrock. If Timelys were in my price range, I would have added one or two to my collection by now.
  4. That's like the second time I have seen More Fun #35. It's not the easiest book to find.
  5. hello all... I was going to ask a similar question, but more like "are you still actively collecting" or have you completed your desired runs/books ,etc... basically the same ? bill is asking rick In recent years I've been more active in collecting movie posters. Don't suppose you picked up an Adventures of Captain Marvel serial movie poster did you?
  6. Sure, Post a Beautiful copy of More Fun #35. It's not like we see it everyday. Nice stash of books.
  7. Very, very nice collection. It's amazing, how what we collect when we are young can be such a wonder when we are older. Didn't see any Captain Marvel goodness in that group, though the wonderous variety of books, more than make up for that. I keep kicking myself, for not buying books in the 80's that are near astronomical in price now. If you ever do want mylars and backing boards, I have a set of 50, that I would send gratis, Bang. You just have to use them on Captain Marvel Adventures and Whiz Comics . Nah, there are other more important books in that pile than those. I am serious about the offer. PM me, if you do want those.
  8. Nice batch o books. Does a heart good to see such nice books now a days. Don't suppose the Big, Red Cheese made his way into it, anywhere did he?
  9. The thing that I really admire about Flessel's work is that it is so consistently good. Even to this day, he does a bang up job on commission. One can't help but appreciate the proclivity of this treasure among comic artists.
  10. Nice Pickup Redhook. I think I saw that copy a while back and was sorely tempted to pick it up. That is a great book and White Cover Police covers are hard to find in decent shape. A really, sweet book is that one.
  11. Darn nice Whiz 19, SAcentaur. If only I could make myself chunk out the money for one. It is, perhaps, my favorite of all the covers in the run.
  12. I think the big worry is that there are negative connotations to Cleaning and Pressing. No matter which way you swing it, enough people consider it restoration that it hurts a book's value. Me, I have no problem long as I know and will pay market price. The Market Determines All......
  13. You don't hear any "Gay" jokes involving GA Captain Marvel do you? That's why he beats out Batman every day.
  14. Great books, when you asked if anyone had an itch for one in the teens, sacentaur first thought was NA 16. One of the best covers of the run. Something very iconic about that one.
  15. I had thought about buying that book for over a year and came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to spend that much money. So, good job on a nice pickup.
  16. Mark has the only ashcan, I care to own. Though, it is incredibly impressive that Moondog has been able to acquire what he has. And in doing so, has broadened the knowledge of collectors everywhere. People like Mark and Moondog make these boards a better place. I am done with the brown nosing now.
  17. Love it though my favorite is #19. Your have picked up a sweet book. Congrats.
  18. Anytime, I have called him, I didn't want to get into a "Geek" discussion. I just wanted to get his pricing, what he does etc. I figured, if he started reminescing about old times, then I would have asked.
  19. Hey, can someone get a hold of the guy who runs www.comics.org and let him know? It will help to get the info out.
  20. Went to the Library of Congress (www.loc.gov) online and found no records of Double Action Comics. Though, I believe that they are still entering information on that book. Action, Detective and Whiz were found easily as well as some of the more unusual titles.
  21. Actually, Whiz Comics #2(1) is the scenario that comes to mind.
  22. My estimates put the #37 at 15 copies. Unfortunately, less than 1/2 of those are complete. I have been looking for the last year. So, I could be wrong.
  23. for a long neglected artist of The Golden Age of Comics.
  24. I just haven't gotten around to slabbing my cop(y/ies).
