Yep, I have to agree with you on that. It was a series on par with Detective and Action. Truly a sad day when the last issue hit the presses. To me, the best covers(Mostly Flessels) are those that reflect the name...Adventures. Though, #16 is kinda cool too.

Kudos to Fan4Fan for some Pulpy enjoyment.!!!

Now that is one sweet National Comics!!!

Actually, GA Captain Marvel Jr. comics are a weakness in that regard. I don't collect them and aside from great interior artwork do little for me. I do keep track of what shows up just because every frickin search engine pulls CMJ issues when I search on the word "Captain Marvel" . So please, don't think I am an expert on Fawcett books in general. I pretty much stick to the Big Red Cheese(not the smelly little Blue Cheese).

My bad, I say the 27 and thought it was issue #27. Dee, Dee, DEeeeeeee!!!
-
I will say that #27, is one of the nicer ones (tear and all) that I have seen in quite a while. Vice nice pickup, Matt.

The stories though (like a lot of golden age tales) read like they were written by autistic twelve year old.
I didn't know Timulty was that old to have been able to write for Centaur!
Hey, what did I do to merit that comment?

Can't remember if I have posted this but here is my most recent pickup:
Whiz Comics #126 CGC 8.5 "D" Crippen Copy Off-White To White Pages.
You know, when I first saw this, I thought that maybe the color was lightened as are most Heritage scans. Surprisingly, very, very nice gloss and colors!!!

Vertigo One Shot Dr. Thirteen and Books of Magick(original Mini Series #2 or 3)

Kudos to Arexcrooke for a great transaction!!!!

It is very difficult to escape the allure of Captain America and Human Torch comics. They just looks so great. Probably the best covers of the GA(well with some exceptions, of course) on a whole.

Nothing like seeing some primo MLJ to keep one excited about collecting. Great books Shield!!!

At last a package arrived today! These two came from a fine gentleman on these boards! Thanks!
Those are excellent pick ups!!! So, did you ever get yourself a 37?

What I think about CMA, is that over all, is consistently fantastic. Fantastic in the sense that the covers(especially the later ones) are not your typical covers. You see Mole men and trolls, talking tigers, Robots and street posters all doing things that you don't see in real life(nor in most superhero comics). I had seen 3 copiesof 132 this year(it has to be one of my favorite covers). One of them was a Crowley copy that was up on Heritage in an earlier Signature Auction. Needless to say, I didn't buy that one because the reserve was too high(though it was a better copy except for page quality). I had a 147, which I should have back before the end of the year. The last 20 issues of CMA, really have an appeal to them that, in a lot of ways, is better than say the 51-90 run. I am happy to have my recent acquisition of 27 and 37. Unfortunately, the scans are dreadful. I will be reworking those before too long. Oh, yeah just picked up a Whiz Comics #126 CGC 8.5 Crippen "D" copy. Off-White to White pages

Finally, figured out how to do this. Yeah, I know you guys have seen all these before but since I don't own a digital camera this is the second best thing.

HUGE KUDOS TO TIMULTY!!!!
Tim and I have been buddies for about the past year, in fact our first transaction was that he sent me the Ultimate Avengers DVD for Hunter and I to watch. I sent him a sketch, which of course (if you know Tim) he said not to, that is just the type of guy he is...
Box arrived today for Jon and Hunter...Tim sent the 2nd movie to Hunter and threw in a unopened one for Hunter to keep for his collection (it has a mini comic)...all this and it is Hunter's birthday today...a gift from Uncle Tim is what I am going to tell him tonight.
Tim, you are one of a kind my friend!!!!!
Jon, has been one of the easiest people to work with so to anyone who hasn't bought something from Jonjesper, please do. He's one of the good guys!!
