1. I don't buy multiples of books unless I find a copy in distinctly better condition. Therefore if I already owned one of either of those books in a condition that was satisfactory in every way, I'd be looking to buy a different book. 2. Putting price aside, Amazing Fantasy ranks way down on the list of Marvel comics I'd like to own. Amazing Spider-Man 1 has more aesthetic appeal than Amazing Fantasy 15 in my eyes. I just don't like Jack Kirby's rendition of Spider-Man on the cover of AF15. And was the origin story of Spider-Man from AF15 not reprinted in its entirety in Amazing Spider-Man 1?

I disagree because there are 40x as many AF 15 buyers than SC 22. That's why I continue to add to my DC comic collection. I don't mind paying for short supply, but I really resent paying the prices caused by high demand.

Huh?! Don't you mean that both the supply and prices of Marvel Silver Age books dwarf those of DC? Is not the supply of Marvels higher as are the prices?

While admittedly there seems to be less interest in those titles than in the Julius Schwartz edited ones and in the Batman family titles, I for one have been pecking away at those titles when the price is right. Have you posted a list recently?

No way. I think that only a minority have been "found". There are all kinds of hardcore long term collectors who don't slab their books quite simply because they have no intention of selling them in the foreseeable future. That's what I would hope too but I think you're probably right about flippers now being the dominant players since movies seem to have become the tail that wags the dog.

Now I'm confused. I thought that you thought that we all thought or should think that Showcase 22 was the only important Silver Age book?

I am pretty sure, it's gonna go for more than 2500$ For sure...but let's see if it breaks $6K for the seller to break even. How do you know that the seller paid in the $5000 area for the book?
