Whitman Variants, Direct vs Newsstand
ghost of the wild replied to slpfi27's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Be careful, I asked kind of the same question and instead of a helpful answer seems some cared more about me calling it a diamond. One of my very first questions was also met with the immature inputs that made me leave the forum for a while. There are some here that think it is a place to be a smart @&& , while many others are very very helpful, I mean will go above and beyond to help find an answer. Don't let it bother you as it did me at first as a newbie seeking the help from those that really know and have experience. Best to just over look them and move on to the real people who wish to help. I wish I could answer your question cause I feel collectors of such runs would search high and low for these variants that seem to not be considered as such. welcome to the CGC forum and hope you find your answer. Peace. -

so in your opinion, if based on what you see, what grade do you think. And do you think I should have it pressed? even though I don't understand that process at all and can't seem to run down a post that explains it through and through -

I've had this one since it came off the rack and was stored while I served my country and came home. So only paid cover price. I plan to submit more comics but this one is one of my favorite characters so being his origin, it's a little special to me. We didn't have a lot to choose from back then. I have another copy I picked up a few years later but still back then it didn't cost but a fist full of dollars. So give it to me straight doc. -
Ok I hope I got good enough pics, I tried. Thank you to those that help me decide weather to grade or not.

Fair market value

And since the turn around times for multi tiers are different, will they all still be shipped at one time?? -
Fair market value
ghost of the wild replied to ghost of the wild's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Dang good question, I would like to see the answer myself. If it goes over 200.00 up to 400 would that not make it the Economy at 38.00 ?? and if it goes over 400 then it would go to the standard up to 1000 at the 65.00. That is how I understand it, but I would like someone who has submitted books to tell me and you. -

Godzilla # 3 question
ghost of the wild replied to ghost of the wild's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
I noticed the 2nd vol. number # 1 Man-thing has some that the UPC code box has a black line through it, the dreaded no return mark, have wondered what the numbers stack up against the straight up regular numbers on that one too. -
Godzilla # 3 question

Thank you Warlord, wonder if there are any type of print run numbers out there anywhere on these type of variants verses the common prints.?? -

Godzilla # 3 question

Thank you Warlord Yes sir, exactly -
ok so I won a Godzilla #5 CGC 9.2 at 15.50 and Godzilla #8 CGC 9.4 at 19.49. I know they are not the highest of grades but I'm already going crazy from being locked in the house from the virus, Even though I had to fight for them at the end I think I still came out ok. Hell, I'm happy. Sorry just had to share with someone. The neighbor was in her yard talking to her cat today as if it understood her, I came in and me and the dog had a long good laugh about it.

Godzilla # 3 question
ghost of the wild replied to ghost of the wild's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
I kinda thought that, seems to me the Whitman s would carry less value since I think they were sold in General stores in like multi packs of 3 comics, If i'm remembering correctly. I just found some Battle star Galacticas that are the same way, 1 - 3. -
I have 4 copies of Godzilla ( Marvel ) # 3 and noticed today that one has a triangle around the price and a blank block where the other has a normal looking block has price, date with Godzilla above it and upc code is on the others. Is one considered more valuable or whats up with that one? I know there is a 35 cent variant, but all 4 are exactly the same except for mentioned differences. Any one know anything? Like I know some of y'all do, lol. I going a little cabin fever crazy from this self quarantine.

well could y'all help me on this , I am submitting a wolverine # 1 from the first mini series, now of course I think it's 9.8 but y'all know how that goes, I'm hoping, to me it looks perfect, so is fair market value 200, and if I'm correct ( rarely) and they bump it up to the next tier what will the price be to grade it. I'm new at this getting graded and hard to teach an old dog new tricks. -
I have searched, I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times, but when you are submitting, does fair market value on the submission form, mean before it's graded or one that has been graded. The two prices are sometimes hugely different. Thanks for over looking my ignorance. Peace.
