  1. I wonder if anything changed since this sheet was created since slab was recently graded. Anyone else have a CGC with a staple detached graded higher than 6.0? He has a grading tutorial video series on YouTube that also gives insight into how he developed this sheet if anyone is interested:
  2. Makes me really want to collect small toy cars now. I already get the occasional urge to collect them when I'm digging through the toy car section for Batmobiles.
  3. So true. Unless the signer is immortal, their signature will always be finite. 1 signature or 10 billion signatures are both still finite. However, I bet that line works on some.
  4. I remember getting these when they first came out and my Buck Rogers and Tiger Man breaking really quick. When we went back to replace them the next week, all they had left were rows and rows of Killer Kane and a few of the female figures. I was devastated. On the bright side, I played with that spaceship so much. It's still my favorite starfighter of all time. Love that design.
  5. Are they really that big, or photoshop making it seem that way?
  6. When I was learning to grade(still am), the MCS website really threw me off. However, I soon realized that it was because mostly everything was under-graded.
  7. I remember having so much fun with the Stompers 4x4 battery operated trucks. My buddy and I would take them to the nearby, crack-infested park and have them perform all sorts of climbing feats. Hey, I grew up in the Bronx. That was the closest thing to woods we had in my area. I remember some of the later ones came with an extra set of tires made out of a different, foam-like material that you could switch back and forth. I guess one set was for speed, and the other set for climbing. However, we never noticed any difference in performance.
  8. Great post. I personally enjoy reading threads where RMA is arguing. Why? The more both sides argue, the more information I google. These debates are great for people like me just getting back into the hobby after being out for decades. And while some may find these arguments exhausting, you do have the choice to not argue, and others reading the thread have the option to not read RMA's walls of text. RMA has quoted and disagreed with a post of mine in the past. I could have initiated an argument. However, I didn't. I saw how good of a debater he was, and I wasn't willing to put in the work to debate him, but the interesting thing is that RMA didn't continue to try and push me into one either. I spent about a decade arguing on Facebook trying to push back against the tide of dis/misinformation that is the Facebook cesspool, but I quit Facebook about 2 years ago because I don't like to debate anymore. So, I don't do it unless I'm super bored. Will I ever tango with RMA? Maybe. But if I do, it will be my choice to, and I definitely won't take it personal. And I'll definitely do my best to read what he actually types. Moral of the story: If you don't like playing with RMA, then don't. I don't understand why that is so difficult to grasp.
  9. Ya'll gonna make Karate Kyle revisit this thread.
  10. For some context, it was just a $200 slab. The person I was referring to has a cigarette habit that's at least double that value monthly. I guess spending twice that monthly to destroy your body is acceptable, but buying something that will hold, and most likely raise, it's value is something to frown upon.
  11. I love it when people try to criticize, and express disbelief, in a condescending tone for me spending x amount on " just a comic book." I then have to bust out the logic and demonstrate how my purchase was way wiser than practically every non-essential purchase they have made in just the past few months (I don't have to go into detail on that aspect as I'm sure most of you have done similar). It would be fine if it ended there. However, when these people still try to argue it based on emotion while completely ignoring my points. These people make me nerd-rage. That's all. Just needed to vent.
  12. Does anyone have a count of how many times this point has been made, and also, how many times it's been completely ignored?
  13. My first transaction on these boards was smooth and enjoyable. Thanks for the great slab(Hero for Hire 1).
  14. It doesn't help that there are comic book YouTube channels promoting PGX and claiming that anti-PGX people are just following herd mentality. I almost fell for it myself. I'm so glad I stumbled upon these forums when I started researching getting back into collecting.
  15. Thanks, guys. I made my first purchase last night/this morning.
  16. This discussion needs a crocoduck for no reason at all. Now, everyone take a break and marvel at the crocoduck:
