  1. One of my favorite early Saunders covers, and a killer copy to boot! Nice!!
  2. A Bok robot color prelim ... now THERES something worth considering! Nice looking piece Steve!
  3. Stepping back a few pages to the St. John covers BZ posted, I received my "J. Allen St. John : Grand Master of Fantasy" book yesterday from Amazon, and I recommend it. I think there could have have been more pulp work included (and less early commercial work), but overall, its got some great repro's of original St. John's, which lets you see how loose he worked. His ability to capture action and lighting was/is astounding. Bit of a goofy title though.
  4. Do you have the complete run of J.C. Penny catalogues too?
  5. I have owned/sold 2 copies...one was restored (I will ask owner if he can scan)...and Win has the other copy I had (a nice 5.5, but I bet it is cracked)... I think ryan h has a copy as well... Hey Gator, I think Steve is referring to the UBER-elusive AMF V1/#4 (not v2/#4) ... other than Steve, I think only Win and Jon Berk have copies here on the boards, and they haven't been around in some time. mine is the church copy....if someone needs a straight scan, can do jpeg or tiff... Hi Jon... killer copy! Blake needs the Everett story (Skyrocket Steele) from that issue scanned... tiffs would be ideal if you are willing to scan your Church copy! PM me if you can, I'll put you in touch with Blake. This is one of the last stories he needs for the Everett book.

  7. Great pulps Theagenes!! I always liked this title, especially this monster cover. Looks like a maggot from Hell.
  8. Incredible trio of St. John's, BZ!! The condition of those is just Does anyone have the St. John book "Grand master of Fantasy"? Waiting for it to arrive from Amazon. St. John is a god.
  9. I love that map. I think it would be fun to collect maps associated with different fictional characters. This Little Orphan Annie map of Simmons Corners is one of the few I own. I love both of these maps... and although I'm a sci fi guy, the rendering on the Annie map is just a beautiful piece of illustration work. Really great colors on that one.
  10. CONGRATS Dwight ... thats a fantastic addition to your collection. Makes my original art buying rash flare up ...
  11. No. I ordered it on two occasions from Amazon and both times they arrived in dreadful shape so I returned them for refunds. I'm afraid to try it again. I'll probably end up purchasing the book locally at Borders or Barnes and Noble, assuming they stock it. A friend of mine told me the exact same story ... two times, both times damaged. I think I'll order it from the publisher or a local book seller. No point trying Amazon.
  12. Maybe this will help you Ward off those Wintertime blues. Spicy Adventure Stories (November 1934) Killer Spicy's BZ ... thanks loads for posting! Great eye candy! This cover in particular is pretty incredible. Amazing what they used to get away with in the '30's. Do you have that new H J Ward book yet?
  13. Talk about bizarre...check out this one. I always loved the monster on this cover... the original conehead!! Wonderful WT's BZ!!! I love seeing your pulps... they always add a bit of "SPICY"-ness to my day, and "WARD" off the blues... its a "MYSTERY" to me how you accumulated such a great collection. If I were a better "DETECTIVE", I might be able to figure it out.
  14. Well I know the #3 and #4 went to a good home (even though I still pine for them!) Nice run ERB!!
  15. Thank YOU Vern WONDERFUL copy Vern!! Tough to find in decent grade!!
  16. Hey Dwight, I just noticed the date stamp ... is this from the same collection as the ASQ I bought from you a while back (ant cover)? This is just a killer copy of this classic Paul cover pulp. The robot AS is incredible too.
  17. All great pulps Dwight, but Saunders and H.J. Ward = Fantastic selection.
  18. What a tight looking copy. Wonderful cover art... look at the detail!!! Everett was a master!
  19. Very much so... done around the same time I think!
  20. Was pretty glad when this book came up as a BIN on ebay ... been wanting a copy for a while, and this one was affordable with decent eye appeal and really nice pages. Could be my all time favorite Wolverton cover! Might eventually get it restored, or possibly hold out for an upgrade. But in the meantime, I'm pretty happy to have this tough-to-find book.
  21. A fantastic 25 Darth Corgi!! If this doesn't get you in the Halloween mood, then maybe you are already DEAD. Well done!!! (thumbs u Great choices.
  22. What a great cover... and the date stamp is perfectly placed. It has recently crept onto my want list... love the human/insect nightmarish hybrid! This is becoming my favorite thread... great posts Darth Corgi!!
  23. You are converting me into a pre-code guy Andy!! WICKED books!! I think you know which are my favorites!!
