Thanks everyone for your help with my ungraded copy looks like it is somewhere between 4 - 6. So what is the best way to estimate FMV? If i send it in too low, will CGC correct it? also the fees are significantly different depending on FMV. I made a table with the values based on Go Collect. What would most people say as FMV? is it better to go lower or higher?

Hi All
I bought a CGC 5.0 TOS 39 and am thinking of having it cleaned and pressed. One of the items in the grader notes was 'Center Back Cover Heavy Rippling/Warping'. However, there was tape removed and the top left corner shows significant color removal (see pics). My question is, should i have it cleaned and pressed? Does anyone one have an idea how many points were likely taken away for this? Do I dare hope for a 6.0 or is a 5.5 the most I could get with this book? If I can hope for a 6.0, financially it works out. For a 5.5 it would be a wash.
rest of notes:
Back Cover Marker/Pen
Bottom Spine Wear
Bottom Staple Small Tear
Center Back Cover Heavy Rippling/Warping
Left Top Front Cover Color Lift
Right Bottom Back Cover Lite Stain
Right Top Back Cover Lite Stain
Spine Stress Lines Breaks Color
Staple Recessed
Staple Rusted
Top Spine WearThanks (pics below)

what does everyone think is holding it back from a 9? I was thinking it had a shot at that grade...

@Sweet Lou 14 great question, I've been thinking a lot about that as there is one strand in particular that looks precarious. I will have to call them up and see what they would do...

Sorry, didn't scan the back before I sent it in. i recall it being pretty flawless. I'll let you know what it grades at.

@ Dark Knight Thanks! i had read about that but was not sure how much of hassle it is, if the lines are really long or what. I'll have to see when they are in NY/NJ next...

Thanks! Hoping for a 4.0 at least. I will update the grade when i get it.

Thanks Gadzukes! I collected as a kid and then after college in the early '90s, but haven't touched my books until 6 months ago. Was floored by how much some accrued value (like this one). I want to get it graded but i'm a bit hesitant to send it through the mail. I'll need to figure something out. I sent a few books to CGC for the first time this month.
Glad to be in the presence of fellow AF 15 owners! A fine bunch for sure!

There is, but with only 27 graded I figured what the heck... Let's see what the pressing can do. Pretty sure there's no bend.

PGM House of Secrets #92 The Grade is In!
in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?

Lower than I thought, but I missed a light water stain on the back. Still, what's the ROI on my 25 cents???
