  1. I got a Wolverine head sketch during his 1st private signing a few years back. CGC has used the image of the cover he did for me as the example of the sketch option for the past few signings.  It always makes me happy seeing it whenever they announce a new Jim Lee signing. It’s probably my favorite book that I own. He left all the light pencils after he inked it. Love that man

  2. I will sometimes have 9.8s cracked and pressed before a signing if they have any minor pressable defects I think can help improve the appearance of the book and the chances it comes back a 9.8 again. Books jostle in the cases when they are shipped and sometimes the book is borderline anyways but happened to get a 9.8 rather than a 9.6 the first time. I sent 6 slabbed 9.8s to the McFarlane signing and had 3 of them cracked and pressed prior to sending. The books also get handled a lot from the time they leave your hands and finally get graded so I try to have them as minty as possible. Overall at the McFarlane signing I subbed 27 books, of which 18 I thought would probably come back 9.8. I actually got 20 books back that were 9.8s including 2 copies of Batman 423 1st prints.

I don't have all of my books back, but of the 20 I have received only 4 came back with the full name signature

Just curious - would like to know from anyone willing to respond:

    1.  How many books did you send in for TM to sign?

    2.  How many came back with full name "Todd McFarlane" signature vs how many came back with "T. McFarlane" ?

I sent in 28 and only 3 had the full name. Unfortunately neither of the Batman 423 9.8 did. Love the grades tho and sig nonetheless

As Neal Adams once explained to me, when he disagreed with where I window bagged a Detective 411 for him to sign at a convention, it's his signature being displayed and represented so he would prefer that the placement be where his artistic sensibilities directed, and not up to a plebe like me.

Haha. I love Neal Adams. He chewed me out at a convention once and it was great!

  5. Hi all!

I’m heading up to a convention in Boston next week. Does anyone know if nick spencer or Dan Mendoza charge for regular non witnessed sigs? If so, how much? I saw torpedo con 2021 pricing for spencer but other artists were charging more than normal for torpedo packages with the added extras.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  6. Hi!  Does anyone know if Denys Cowan allows for cgc verified signatures?  I haven't seen any recent cgc ss of his on ebay and I didn't want to drive the 10 hours to find out he doesn't allow the sigs.  The list above has his name listed, however it also lists "David Michelinie -  (8/17-8/19 TER)" and Michelinie didn't allow any witnessed signatures at the event this weekend.  Anybody know?

  7. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had a book signed at convention with cgc witness and then submitted for pressing and grading.  Does the pressing affect the signature at all?  Will using a silver or gold sharpie markers vs black make a difference in how the sig is affected?  Heading out tomorrow and any feedback would be much appreciated!
