What the heck is going on with the label notes? I caught that too, but you beat me to it. Yes, I pointed out this problem to CGC by sending a scan. Unfortunately, in order to get this corrected, I'm going to need to send it in. They said that I wouldn't be charged for correcting the problem, but I believe that I'm going to end up paying for shipping. Since it is their mistake, it seems like they should ship it back to me on their dime, but we'll see. It appears that CGC entered the book into the database as the X-Men 1991 series. I checked the census and there is a 9.2 entered into the census in issue #59 census for issue #59, X-Men 1991

Thanks, it helps to be obsessed with a single title! I've definitely been there on being disappointed with CGC grades. I suppose that as long as you didn't pay too much for the books then it all comes out. No matter what, that X-Men #3 is still a really nice book. I'm not much of one for buying raw and submitting to CGC anymore - too many disappointments. I'd rather buy the book after someone else has been through that heartache. Besides, in my experience the raw book often is sold at a grade a bit higher than what you'll actually receive from CGC so it's rare to come out money-ahead. I'm sure that some people do because they spend a lot of time looking and are really good at grading. I'm not that good.

I just got mine late last week, so yours should be on the way! Now that i think about it, i remember 1 of my books had a cracked case and a note that is it getting reholdered so thats probably what the delay is about. I havent gotten a "shipped" email so i dont think they are even on the way yet. I want my Hulk 4 danggit!!! This was a bit of a wait for this one to arrive after the C'Link January auction. Anyway, the C'Link auction isn't usually a good place for great deals but not too many people seemed to notice this sleeper and I picked it up for a little under GPA.

However, the grades on some issues aren't quite what I want yet. I would like to get issues 21 - 66 above 9.0 as much as possible. I currently have 11 of those issues in 8.5 or 9.0 that I would like to get in 9.2 - 9.6 . I would also like to get issues 2-10 at 8.0 and above. I now have 3 issues in this range I would like to upgrade. My #1 is a 6.0 and I would like to upgrade that but the prices are getting so high - it's getting very difficult. And, of course, it's not about buying a label. There are some books out there that just aren't the right book due to some defect that I don't care for.

I'm just upgrading my run as I find HG x-books. Lately a few have been offered up here on the boards and they have been too good to pass up - and too good of a fit for my collection.

Another book just came for me today. From paperheart. My new scanner also came today - this was my first scan off of it. An old HP 8250 legal scanner.
