Interesting auction.  While the premium stuff had very little action, the low end stuff is very active. 
can’t speak towards prices, or whether it means the market is “softening”, just noticing how it’s a little different than the American auctions that seem lately to have a lot of action on high end pages while the mid-lower pages seem stagnant 

It looked to me like all of the Don Heck art sold at pretty solid prices.  
(10k for that Tales of Suspense 45 page bodes well for me as I have a page from that book too!)

I have the prelim for the first appearance (birth page) of kid Loki 

I bought it for 15 euros.  Paid more for shipping than for it

(and I LOVE it)

I commissioned this from Mike Vosburg via CAFLive.  Contacted him on Sunday, he responded within the hour, and put this in the mailbox yesterday.

I said I was looking for a She-Hulk circa 1980 sketch and here’s what he came up with!

Man, he smashed it out of the Ballpark!  
 

Mike himself wrote me and said this is one of his favorite drawings he’s ever done of She-Hulk!

Mike is a class act

Commissioned a quick sketch by the great Rudy Nebres of the Jack of Hearts. Just about the size of a trading card but, lots of detail and attention paid to it!

Turned out really great!

As a “key Marvel Silver Age” guy, I’d say this auction has some heavy hitters

I managed to sneak away with this out of the C-Link auction 

I’m a big Scarlet Witch and Vision fan, but my collection is primarily first and key appearance pages, so this one solved that problem nicely as the birth of Billy and Tommy was one of the most significant moments in their history 

(and, since my wife is a big WandaVision fan, and they echoed this scene on the show, it earned me bonus points in her eyes 🤣)

I think for me, it’s simply just I’m not a “sword and sandal fantasy” kind of guy.  Frazetta probably is great, but my eye never lingers on the page long enough to take it in, or to develop an eye for what separates him from his contemporaries

any thoughts about prices yesterday and what they suggest about the state of the hobby?

40k today…

That Kirby/Stone FF 30 page went for 12.6 with BP

there are dealers selling Kirby/Stone pages for 2x that 

Not sure if the market is speaking or if the market is softening 

(and yes I understand that page to page comparisons would have some impact on price)

OA and yes.  I actually had 2 bigger ticket items in the Heritage auction and they tanked hard! 😔

I had a few things in the c-link auction and a few in last week’s Heritage Wednesday 

my c-link stuff actually exceeded my expectations. Heritage however…

Moved a lot of things around to make room for this!
