For what it's worth.... I don't think that crease will affect the grade as much as one might think, because that is a common production defect on that book that I think CGC is aware of based on numerous other slabbed copies I've seen that have this crease. I actually owned two copies of this book, bought from a closed down shop's storage unit recently. Both copies had this exact same crease. I ended up selling both copies raw. Anyway, although it's a semi-significant defect, I suspect CGC might be a little easier than usual on grading since it's a production defect.
Thanks for input, if its a 9.4 or 9.6 it might be worth it since I bought it a cover price. A 9.8 sold for about 600$ on ebay a few days ago ! Nostalgia fever !

It’s hard to get that crease out 100% due to the thickness of the cover.
Ok thanks Joey !

Are you pressing these books yourself?
No Joey. I am selling the book. I've had it for years and I"m not willing to send a single magazine size book to CGC because of shippiong costs. Not worth it

It may depend on the grader...
Yeah I guess hard to tell. Not going to risk it for such a low value book.

He posted a WTB thread back in the summer looking for an Aliens 1 9.8. I had one heading there so contacted him. We agreed to a price and kept him informed of when it was coming back/back. Upon it's arrival back he asked for a bit more time to pay for the book (being a Canadian sucker, and hoping to gain a new customer as well) I agreed to give him more time. Deadline passed and he's now ghosted me I see he's still active on the boards and he's read my facebook messages so let's put him on the list where he belongs.
Timeline:
Price was agreed to on Sept 9th.
Asking for a couple of weeks to get me the payment on Sept 10th. (so if we need to bump the "nomination" I guess that would make the new payment date of Sept 20th), he then asked to extend until October 8th. He's since admitted he has no intention of purchasing it (tonight).
Like I said no problem you got a lot more money from someone else. I won't buy a 9.8 comic with a dent in the corner tha could pass for a 9.4. Someone at CGC was feeling generous that day.
You sold it for way more so just be happy
I said I was sorry. If you think this is realy necessary then I'm glad we didnt do any business.
Picture speaks for itself. Anyways take care Eric. No hard feelings , you got a great price so pour the champagne instead of hating

The dirt and rippling can be removed. Whether that results in a grade bump is up to CGC.
OK thanks. Yes cgc the almighty

You would be surprised what can be done.
Thanks for the feedback.
So you're saying the ASM 129 could be improved to maybe a 6.0 or 6.5 with a proper press ?

I believe Picclick removed the Filter option for show only (ex. Completed Sold)
https://customerservice.picclick.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000780552-Show-Only
This is a major bummer !
I suspect either a) Ebay told them to remove it or b) They make more money not having that feature because the affiliate link is worthless when on a sold item (more likely)

Pmail @427Impaler. He can help you reduce the finger print smudge on cover quite easily and do other conservation work as needed.
Thanks. Not sure if you can answer but do you think the scuff Mark is permanent?

Their primary competitor is GPAnalysis. Both sites have their own strengths and weaknesses. GoCollect I find really slows down late at night, which can suck for an ebay night owl.
Exactly why I'm thinking of switching. I hear covrprice is also good

Is it just me or is Go Collect always having issues ?
Can you please you recommend a better site.
Thanks

I think that large crease prevents from hitting 5.0 (and some of the other colour breaking creases too). A press will guarantee 4.5 I feel and at least make it a tad more presentable.
makes sense thanks

Just wanted to add something. We were talking about SS books not being worth it for us. Well check this out. We know it cost $90 for the signing, and on top of that you have the shipping both ways (to and from CGC), the extra 5$ handling fee and the possible 20$ pressing fee (to make sure they get that 9.8). So yeah, money is being lost all around.
SS books are mostly worth it for high priced items. Otherwise you might as well buy it signed already it will come out cheaper.
Some people send in raw copies and have them Signed but don't yet know the grade of the book.
I sent in an Amazing Spider-man #300 in hopes of getting back a 9.6 signed by MsFarlane.
It turned out to be a 9.4 and so it cost me alot in the end. It would have been cheaper buying the 9.6 copy signed already.
On a sidenote, Todd didn't even sign in the blue square I had carefully prepared for him (LOL)

It makes little sense that shipping costs have gone from $90 to $180 (25 books) over just a few months and Canada is in the same costing tier as Europe and Africa. I emailed CGC looking for more of an explanation.
Thanks keep us posted Hamburglar
