Pedigrees of this magnitude should have the option to get their own label design.

Maybe the family promised to keep the books until the original owner passed away

How does this impact midgrade copies of these books?
Does a rising tide lift all ships or are these books so special and once in a lifetime that they do not severely impact the already highly priced market?
A rising tide will likely lift all ships. What’s more (imho) is this will bring a giant spotlight to golden age books that have largely been able to avoid it. Could cause a major price correction up for all of the golden age to be more inline with where they should be given the silver/copper/modern age explosion in price.

Back cover would be worth a boatload as well

Replace the staples, put original staples in bag, tape bag to slab. Problem solved. If the next owned is label centric and wants it back as it was can just put the original staples back.

That would be a market changer for sure. I'll throw my guess out there, why not. I'll guess a little more conservatively at $43k.
Went for over $50k after all. Seems like a market changer now but I still think it will be viewed as underpriced in the not to distant future

This is the second Signature auction in a row that the number of Golden Age books has been extremely low.
Maybe because people are realizing just how undervalued golden age is compared to silver, copper and modern age books with their recent run up in prices.

Wow. What a beautiful 2.0. Happen to have a pic of his former 1.5?

Whatever they go for they’ll be underpriced. With common books like gs-x 1 fetching over 40k all golden age mega keys and keys are severally undervalued (along with silver age and copper age mega keys being severely over valued).
-
Wow. Wish I was following it. Would have grabbed it up. I think it’s severally undervalued right now.

I completely agree. I think the mega grails have a lot of room to grow and even 1.5-2mil will be looked back upon as a bargain in 10 years.

You can always set a price range in completed auctions until you discover the right price.

After waiting over an hour on hold having an investigation started and going up the ladder with usps yesterday the book showed up in the system at 2:15am with a delivery by 11:15am and just arrived. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Originally the first person on the phone swore up and down mine wasn’t one of the 210 packages the auction house dropped off that day but when I asked them to run each and every other tracking number they said they would get back to me in 24 hours and 8 hours later it began tracking.
-
Let me modify that and say they told me it has definitely been dropped off at the post office by their lead shipping person.

It looks like the label has been generated but the package has not been received by the post office yet. No need to panic yet, its probably with a batch waiting to be dropped at the PO.
I’ve talked to them several times. It definitely was definitely dropped off at the post office on August 12th.

Anyone else notice all of the complete, restored bat1’s have disappeared from eBay besides the 9.6? Cheapest complete bat1 left is the voldy 4.5 that had restoration removal for $195k. Dunno how it managed to nab an unrestored label considering the previous label under cgc said cover cleaned if I remember correctly. I wonder if the days of a 5 figure complete bat1 are passing.
