  1. It’s not the most beautiful, but when there are all of two on the CGC Census, one can’t be too picky. Very happy to add this book to the wwii cover collection.
  2. I’ve limited my Timely collecting to a small subset of wwii cover books that are important or scarce. I just added Daring Mystery 3 from 4/1940, famous for the first and only appearance of the dreaded but fashionable pink pocketed and helmeted Nazis firing pink artillery shells and the odd bound #damselindistress.
  3. Wow, what a tremendous set of books! It’s great to see so many at once, able to really see the colors and special presence they bring.
  4. Thank you, I just need to get over being overwhelmed by all the information here!
  5. It’s a feature, not a bug. They force you to bid in order to be able to create a watched or tracked list. I try to be on the CL site as close to the start of an auction (always 8pm) as I can to be able to make the lowest bids possible and create my list.
  6. Nope. I would wake up in a cold sweat every night hearing the pages disintegrate.
  7. I recently joined the 54 club with a beautiful book hosting slight resto. It will be a blue label at some point, likely when CGC gets caught up. As a collector of only WWII related covers, this was a top 10 target for me.
  8. Couldn’t pass up the color and white pages on this one.
  9. Here are some recent WWIICover (Except the Super-Mystery) pickups.
  10. This is my favorite Fawcett, one I had wanted since I was a teenager. CCS did a great job bringing it back to a blue label.
  11. This is my second favorite Fawcett. Mine was stolen a couple of years ago and I haven’t seen many for sale/bid since. I’m hopeful that a nice one will show up!
  12. I don’t have too many Atlas books, but I picked up these two recently. They aren’t what I collect, so I’m sure I’ll sell them at some point, but I love the epic violent Venus 16 cover and the spectacular colors and condition on the War.
  13. I collect only books from 1939-1945 that have WWII covers. The first books I would grab before some disaster hit would be ones that have real historical value. My two Okajima camp books and Cap 46 fit this description. Then I’d grab the books I love too much to ever let go: Prize 23, Miss Fury 2, All Select 1, More Fun 54, and Master 21. I started collecting in the 70s as a teenager. Unfortunately I sold them all before I went into the Army. But I remember reading Overstreet and seeing pictures of GA books and these stood out to me as comics that were forever completely beyond me.
  14. Congrats on the acquisition! That is a beautiful run!
  15. I have only the number 3. It’s the only wwii cover in the run, so it’s the only one I put in the pc.
  16. Nope. I’ve talked to Vince about this and how we GA collectors have to go through a lot of chaff to get to the wheat. I have seen that they try to cluster all the GA on one day, which is certainly helpful.
