I love Speeds! I particularly like tough film strip covers. I only collect WWII related covers, there are some in the run that I will never have to acquire. I haven’t counted how many I have. But I’m using this post to figure that out. 😂 Looks like I have 17. I’m going to get the glue removed from the 16 one of these days.
I am planning to do a sale post for my undercopy of 20 tomorrow so look for it if you are interested. it’s a CGC 3.0 blue with OW-W pages.
If what I just brought up is not allowed, let me know and I’ll edit the post. -

Pioneer Picture Stories #5
1942 rare gem by Street and Smith that is just pure awesomeness. Leopards!
Has slight dust shadow right edge, a sub crease and wear. Looks like book was only manufactured with one lower staple as it looks like it should be formatted for two. However no marks showing any staple removal of any kind. In my experience Street and Smith publish cheaply with a lot of weird anomalies such as this. Book opens and reads fine despite. Structurally all good!

The Legless Ace is a real guy. Edited a British comic in the 50s I think. I have one or I’d be all over it.

Hands down number one, and I didn’t even know what I really had until after I bought it, is this Startling Comics 24, not because it’s a tough book (which it is), but because to my knowledge it is the earliest known signed Okajima pedigree camp book. It is truly a piece of history and I’m humbled to own it.

Thanks for inviting me Corey! You are too kind. It’s always hard to choose only three, but I’ll throw these three out there as important WWII cover acquisitions in 2019. Three and two were targets I identified going into 2019, the top pickup by far was one that I had no idea I would ever get a chance at.
Number 3 is Master Comics 21, a classic war cover and a book I first saw in the 70’s and never thought I would own. I bought it as a 6.0 restored with a small amount of color touch. CCS brought it back to original state at 5.5 and I couldn’t have been happier. The lighting is a little different, but it is the same book!
