While we wait on Ben’s pronouncement, allow me to inject some flotsam into the mix: this exact book sold for $52,580 back in 2018. I’m sure it would have sold higher in the January 2020 - December 2022 peak, but given the price retreat we are now enjoying, I’m going to say . . . I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO FRIGGIN IDEA since this is one of those CC sellers asking for the extra 15% vig, it would have to hammer at $44,693 to achieve the same $52,580 sale price as back in 2018. so there’s your floor, imo

The interesting thing to me here is how Baker can in one cover adorn the cops with noble facial features, like in the 7 above, but in another cover, like the 10 below, make them look like brutes

No, it’s nostalgia. Tth, I recognize you as a heavyweight around here, so I only say this with the greatest respect, but . . It’s not unlike the nostalgia that drives our comic INSANITY

The Matt Baker auction @Ricksneatstuff put together last week drew a lot of eyes and a lot of bidding. Somehow, the below book got left behind the door and instead of being included in last week’s main event, showed up in Heritage’s weekly auction ending last night. As a result, Instead of going for crazy money, it went for regular money. I guess we were all too exhausted and spent to notice. What a lovely central figure! How might Matt Baker have changed the silver age if not for his untimely passing. I notice the highest copy sold last year for 10 times the price of this one, reminding me of just how large the premium is for the leader

Heritage is nestled in the midst of highways on 3 sides of it. Definitely not walkable as far as I know, due to you’ll end up a hood ornament. I’d say call the front desk and ask them for suggestions
