  1. And it seems they got the inner well design figured out, if only CGC would...So many books would be saved
  2. Surprised this is still here................I would bet it is a 9.8 on a resub.
  3. Pretty soon it will be pieces.....right @gadzukes?
  4. +1 Although passing on the diamond run AF15 a couple of decades earlier is one that I wish I could get back, not sure I would have had the fortitude to press it into a 9.6 like Brulato did .......
  5. Well said! I chased a 9.2 for quite some time and one of the biggest regrets is not pulling the trigger on it a few years ago. It is a very tough book in grade and unfortunately it appears that is becoming more and more apparent. To this date it is still the only Marvel key that has eluded me in high grade and if trends keep pushing the envelope it will continue that way. Did you also try to broker a 9.2 a little while back?
  6. Great seller, tremendous copy! GLWTS
  7. Any 31's today? Always loved this issue and glad to see it is finally getting the attention it deserves. It does have legs in my opinion
  8. Mixed up labels are certainly a QC issue, how about the encapsulation damaged ones? After seeing this one back ,I was done submitting high grade raw....Even pressing could not bring this ASM 50 now 9.0 back to a 9.4. Maybe someday they will change inner well suppliers , or create their own. Just a terrible design......
  9. This is a true statement, however does it just end with sun fade? I know of quite a few books with SCS, pudding, and encapsulation defects that are no longer the same book submitted. Perhaps CVA should branch out into a CYA label......... And that is why I haven't submitted anything for the last 3 years, QC is a joke and the label chasers are endless.
  10. I remember this book, thank you for the insight!!
  11. If you were a condition collector in the 90's , and borderline hoarder I think you are doing okay for return on investment. i won't disclose how many of these I had or currently have but so far all 9.8's to 9.9's ASM 300 (9.8's, and 1 9.9) ASM 361 (9.8's) NM , 87,98 (9.8's) Wolverine Mini 1-4 (9.9's) Dark Knight (9.8's) Batman Adv 12(9.8's) And there are a lot more examples of a pretty significant return for investment , silly really. I do wish I would have picked up an Action 1 a decade earlier in place of stockpiling .
  12. Perhaps a SS ? GLWTS , 4 is always a tough one in high grade
  13. I am suggesting consigning with a reputable dealer. I have yet to find a good deal on HA at least for the books I am looking for, but YMMV.
  14. All seems fair with Comics and Greed with some of these guys. Personally I would never consign anything to HA, far too shady in my opinion and lots of collectors get blinded by all the $$$(hyperbolic data points) and sparkling Pedigrees, Ala Promise Collection (Big Money gets your BIG grades, regardless of condition) I think sticking with the dealers that have given the hobby their blood ,sweat and tears will get you better mileage.....YMMV
  15. Have a couple really nice SA ASM'S that come to mind , but going GOLD \
  16. Pretty strong result here , and apologies if this has already been shared. 9.0 OW-W $490K and pretty sure its the same book offered to me a couple years ago for significantly less. https://www.comicconnect.com/item/942023 Pretty clear trend on this book, if you do not have a copy I would get in while you still can.
  17. And to think 40k for my 9.0 was a lot at the time, still holds true that if you overpay for a key it's just all about the HODLing.
  18. That was a very weird way to do things, I can recall calling for grading notes on several books and the graders asking me where I got them, etc.....Good to know they were appreciative but still a strange experience back then. It would be beneficial on some books to know the full scale from all the graders, and your 8.5 example is very suiting , I can't tell you how many VF+'s I have had regraded as 9.2's on straight resubs.
  19. Full circle we go, and while I am glad to hear that they are back to where they started, charging for notes was a very greedy idea IMHO. Pretty well a no brainer now to upgrade your membership or perhaps share it with others :P
  20. If it does I can guarantee a nice OW old label will hit the market.
