1968 Marvel Manufacturing Defects?
UncleBEN replied to the_drummer's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Imagination like selling CGC slabbing errors without clearly denoting it in the auctions? -
https://www.beckett.com/news/lebron-james-2003-04-exquisite-rookie-patch-autograph-sells-record-1-8-million/ This LeBron James card just sold at @GoldinAuctions for $1.8 million, the record for a modern day card. Winner is @LeoreAvidar, who says purchase is part of strategy to “bring something big to the collectibles and alternative asset business in the coming months.”

CGC... please retrain "That" one grader you have.
UncleBEN replied to Red_Hood's topic in Comics General
If they are reholdered they would be in a Purple Label, the error is the New Marvel labels apparently cannot be printed in purple Boggles my mind why they are just not rejected as an option for restored books. The couple images I posted are a very small sample size of the amount of these out there, so be cautious when you see one of these labels. -

How about retrain the quality control guys as well A RESTORED book should not be able to be slabbed with the new labels Case and point on eBay right now https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-9-CGC-8-5-OW-W-Marvel-1964-1st-Electro/224089236480?hash=item342cc26400:g:xkEAAOSw~-RfFzwX I attached a couple that I could , the seller is offering many and no restoration disclosed and they are in a disgustingly mis slabbed blue label -
This is true, 18 is unlikely but not impossible. 6,8,12 more likely. Just depends on the terms I guess. I have seen some sellers extending 24 months however. Or alternatively he could just get a lower interest loan that extends even further. There is always a way to make it happen, and I hope he finds it .

Or you could do a time payment option? Now granted a 3 year term won't happen but I bet you could find an 18 month, Depending on when you buy you might get lucky and when you are done with your terms it will have appreciated significantly . This would be the best option in my mind , then your money us actually going towards the book , removing any temptation to spend it on something else. If something tragic happened you would be out your deposit but a good dealer would refund the payments made. Just a thought anyway , best of luck!

I have always thought this type would be great for scanning https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/shine-ultra-next-gen-portable-powerful-scanner#/

You were expecting it ? But surprised by it? Confused -
Show us the book, that would fetch a better answer at least from me.

Almost looks like to upgrade all you would have to do is resubmit this copy to me

Anyone can reholder the other guys with a screw driver . Thus the problem with that slab IMHO -

Nice books I have had a couple of that same pedigree , yeah not sure about the label either. The only reason I was looking to reholder was the Newton Ring issues as recently the rumor is they are making more room in the slab to improve. -

I did , I wish I had bought it and the entire ASM collection from Marnin raw. I just remember thinking wow thats a lot of multiples of guide at the time. Now forget about it ...Where's that Delorean when you need it? -

Speaking of pedigrees...here is my #2, one of the copies I have not been successful obtaining in 9.4 or better. Still a very nice looking book and one of the tougher ones to obtain in high grade in my opinion. Might have to reholder it into the new pedigree label and hope they can remove the newton rings. -

As with other pedigrees some do not have the traditional markings associated with it, I paid extra for the brightness of the colors and probably the fact that I haven't had much luck negotiating with Harley Yee. But now with the current market it was a steal at over guide at the time. -

And I remember when Ann 1 was a dog, my undercopy is a 9.0 pedigree that I paid out the nose in 2000(mainly for the ped), but I knew it would catch traction eventually, but that is ridiculous . -

I'm on the fence with SS books , and in my opinion this is a travesty. Will buyers pay a premium for this? Personally I would have paid much more for this copy without -
Nice copy, and it couldn't come from a better dealer . Bob is the best around.

And a steal at that price for that Pedigree IMHO. One of the nicer books they had listed , I missed it was a Pacific Coast. -

Sharp 21 , hard to to find without indented staples. Is that a recent pickup on Ebay? I saw that listed for a heckuva price -
Uphold is the best place to purchase it in my opinion. If you use the app on your phone, there is no fee. You can deposit the funds into a USD account and then send as BTC or whatever method you want directly from there. They also do MANY other currencies . I have been a speculator for over a decade and have done very well , currently it is a very good time to consider investing.

Is anyone else mad at Clink?
UncleBEN replied to GreatCaesarsGhost's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
This was a 9.0 denoted RUSTY STAPLES, purchased via phone at the time as a blue label .
