9.8's do not equate to a perfect book . This is not even close to a 9.4 as previous posters indicated . Would I love you have it , sure . Would I rather have 4 9.4's ,yes that is a no brainer for me . Paging @Colorado Comics . I would LUV your 9.6 when you snag this 😉 -
Is Dylan Still Trying to Scam People with Restored Books?
UncleBEN replied to William-James88's topic in Comics General
Wonder who this really is . New to the forum , I don't think so . -
I know a comic shop that had a long box full of these all pristine . Mine all came back 9.9 with a red modern label , a 10 does not surprise me in the slightest

ICE is a local shop? Let me know how that ASM 10 9.6 looks in hand, if the L was a little more visible it would be off the market ;P -

Wonder who snagged this one, it did not go to whom I thought it would darn it as I really wanted his undercopy. But they got sniped , which is astonishing considering his collection I will be curious to see if we have another contender in this market or if its one of the usual suspects -

Every CBCS book I have submitted have come back from CGC at least 1-2 full grades higher. All early ASM'S in high grade -

Restored Books in Universal Labels
UncleBEN replied to DTM700's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
And after ALL that Dylan listed this today without denoting anything in the description https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-7-CGC-6-0-OW-W-Marvel-1963-2nd-Vulture/224133719117?hash=item342f69244d:g:Mk0AAOSwYaZfFzvX I don't know what to say . Thoughts ? -

What did these close at ? Seems we are just seeing the spike in prices , everyone better buckle up And to think I paid a record high for my ASM 14 9.4 at that time . I can at least say that it doesn't come up in that grade very often . -
Mark Hamill shows off his copy of Detective Comics #27 in 1996

Forget Hamil, I would love to see what Bruce Peck still has......Pretty impressive runs and even more impressive storage -
CBCS CAME BACK A WHOLE GRADE LOWER THAN CGC
UncleBEN replied to J-KComics's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Check mark is CBCS indicating that the book looks better then the assigned grade, similar to QES and CVA. Anytime you resubmit there is always a gamble , would there have been an issue if it came back higher? Or were you looking for the exact same grade between two competing companies using different graders? -

I would bet the bank Scott @Colorado Comics has a pretty good eye on this one. I hope so as I would love his undercopy..wink wink -
That's a tough one , without the book in hand or Heritage high res like scans I would wager that top right corner might come off . Along with some of the color touch scraped off along the stress marks of the spine . The cover reinforcement is usually just on the interior staples and could also be where there was color touch . The biggest factor here would be the tear seals for me to guess a grade . What does a blue label 6.5/7.0 sell for ? $35-45K? I can't imagine this goes for more then 20-25 K but I could be way off base , contingent on what the bidders goal is Of course there have been many examples where this has backfired and the flipper went upside down , lately it was an AF15 that was hideously done . Personally I wouldn't touch this book but clearly this "restoration removal" is becoming a big problem in the hobby . At least it's not in a hulk character label wrongly slabbed . 😳
-
Seems to me based on the LONG list of books that have been flipped from PLOD to blue they use the exact science of tearing them off unfortunately
-
Oh I didn't say it would be pretty but its still a blue slab easily
-
Bet we see this in a blue label very soon
-
Would love to see the notes on this one, I had it a full point higher from the raw front cover scan Very sharp 5.0
-
And how about the other sellers like all things comics etc, kellys superheroes that write a one line restoration line after all of their pictures and verbiage . Either way you have a seller trying to pass it off as an unrestored book. ANY restoration should be clearly denoted, anything less then that is shady

Restored CGC books in new 'character' blue labels.
UncleBEN replied to 90sChild's topic in Comics General
Thanks for the reply , you 100 percent will not be supplying books to me . Can't wait to see how that ASM 9 turns out at full GPA with trimmer edges and color touch . Oh, is this one of your really great books at fair priced ? You mentioned people don't read , I assume you meant the mislabeled books you sold ? As you auction's verbiage had nothing indicating that these were restored books incorrectly slabbed by CGC Just curious how you might feel if you paid top dollar for a book like this missing the picture ( as honestly on a mobile device it's not so clear ) Based on your previous replies I can see that this might invoke a temper tantrum but seriously you think this is okay ? No restoration ? Please elaborate on the attached scan of just one of the books you have sold in this pattern Seems I missed a few pages so this is a redundant reply . But here is the 9 label just to take a peek I do think the restoration notations font is an issue especially on this background , CGC could remedy it slightly with a C1 etc remark in the numerical grade .Perhaps -

Well that is ALOT of misses.....I would wager these label "errors" are in triple digits -
Restored CGC books in new 'character' blue labels.
UncleBEN replied to 90sChild's topic in Comics General
I called this out on the retrain the grader thread and am glad someone else saw this. CGC is really saying they cannot print these labels in PURPLE? Huh? If this is the case then they need to not offer them as an option for restored books, there are TONS of these labels out there , The seller is on the board, and did not reply to me calling him out on not disclosing any restoration info in his auctions on these. Any feedback @dylanthekid ????
