  1. I would recommend, much like the others, to leave it as is. You have invested quite a bit into it already and the possibility of dropping to a 9.6 is definitely there. So you have to ask your self (in the best Dirty Harry voice) "Do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?"
  2. Gearing up for Fan Expo for stuff I want to eventually have on my wall. A few of these were replacements for comics that "went missing" after a move as well. Didn't include but also got Wolverine Mini 2-4 and Infinity Gauntlet 2-6 as well with the two below.
  3. They are waiving it for you this time and now you are fully aware so you can be a little more careful when you order. Doesn’t mean they have some horrible business model. In a lot of cases when an item is returned they might have to sell it at a discount or “trash” it out. I worked as an RMA clerk for a few years many moons ago and know that process. Maybe cut them some slack and lessons learned?
  4. I would do some checking before to make sure it is legitimate. Cover all your bases for sure.
  5. Don't be yoinking all the good stuff before everyone else can check it out!
  6. I will be sure to look for ya'lls booths while I am there on Saturday with my mini-me.
  7. It is really your preference and depends on which #1s they are. If they are important to you, then sure get them slabbed, but they might not be worth the slab in the long run. If they are key issues that have a reason and condition to make the slabbing worth it, then by all means the answer would be yes. Just being a #1 does not make it a key issue unfortunately. This is just my opinion though.
  8. Those look to be Newton Rings, it is an effect where 2 different plastics meet, it shouldn't be water so fret not. See the below post to learn more.
  9. @somewhereintexas From what I have understood Byrne does not agree with grading so he will not allow witnessing of his signature. Which would mean no SS labels.
  10. Yay I am not the newest newb! Welcome for sure. East coast cons, hmmm, NYCC maybe? Unless you are looking for a con really soon then you could try East Coast Comic Con, May 17-19 (one of the last 6 schedule George Perez appearances before he retires)? That is not only noble but hefty, good luck with it!
  11. Guess I should introduce myself. Already made a couple posts here and there. Anyways, been "collecting" since I was a kid, but never really serious about it. Long story short had a really great experience with a Legendary Artist a year ago and ever since have had the itch to get into collecting books that either I missed or get books I have that mean something to me signed by those that created it (too bad I missed any changes with Stan, I will get something with his sig on it one day with a yellow label though once it levels out hopefully). So yeah here I am, gearing up for Fan Expo Dallas next week and looking forward to meeting and getting some stuff signed then shipped off to CGC.
  12. Your regular updates are very much appreciated @Kevin Boyd
  13. Thanks @timfinz I am definitely submitting it for grading when I got to Fan Expo Dallas, so it will be a bit before I know the outcome, will certainly update once I have the final number. Really appreciate the feedback and the ray of hope on such a high number on what will be part of my 1st submission.
  14. The front is a reflection, I tried to get a better without but it is too shiny for me to get it without. I tried zooming in and that just made it grainy and look like it is from the golden age. This is my 1st attempt at this. The back is part of the Joker's chin, if you look at the full image you can see the background image of the Joker and his chin curves right along down there.
  15. Thanks for the welcome. It's not in the bag, it is incredibly shiny. Never been opened, I picked it up when it released because back then I was getting pretty much anything I could that was Alex Ross. Well that I could afford anyways. It has literally just been sitting in that comic box since 1999 in the bag and board. I looked around on ebay for images and most of the ungraded have it and this 9.6 does as well - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-Harley-Quinn-nn-1999-CGC-9-6-1st-Print-1st-Harley-Quinn-in-DC-KEY/192848682783?hash=item2ce6ad5f1f:g:LgQAAOSwPb1cgEVP Appreciate the feedback @csaag giving me things to look at for sure.
  16. So I was going through one of my comic boxes and stumbled upon, to my surprise Batman Harley Quinn One Shot, 1st Print no less. I am likely going to send this in for grading while I am at expo. Whatcha think it might grade at?
  17. Personable is an understatement. He is literally THE reason I have any interest in getting items signed. It hit that heartstring just right. You can treat me right and that's cool, but when you interact and leave a lasting impression with my then 7yr old that has peaked his interest in drawing, that is a completely different level of amazing. That is what Zeck did. Every time we walked by his booth he spoke to my son, asking him if he was enjoying the convention, then at the end he pulled him back behind the table and had him pull the end of day raffle tickets. He has earned the title of legend and from what he posted when Stan passed, he came by it quite honestly and by great example.
  18. Depending on time, I am looking at Zeck, McGuiness, and maybe Rubenstein (don't see much about him anywhere other than he is a "Special Guest") for signatures. I want to let my son see as much as possible on Saturday as well. Then I have JL at 4pm, I am sure the line for that will start well before 4 though. Zeck is a must, he is currently one of my only sigs on one of my oldest comics (SW #8). Met him last year at a MUCH smaller con, great guy and he interacted with my kid a whole lot through the day we were there. So much my son is looking forward to getting another signed print and seeing if Zeck remembers him. Another thing I need to do is stop and talk to the CGC crew. Good reminder!
  19. Awesome, really appreciate the replies @ADAMANTIUM and @kevhtx , I was hoping that was the case. I am only going Saturday with my son. Will be there when the doors open, if traffic cooperates from Austin. Going to be a fun filled day of looking around and hopefully getting some great signatures (including Jim Lee's!), if I find a good enough copy of that foil 608 maybe that will supersede the original 608 I am bringing to get signed...... decisions... decisions. And yeah 2 weeks, but 1st Endgame! Happy Easter to you as well @ADAMANTIUM
  20. Curious, do the exclusives, like this one, tend to sell out on day 1. Or will there be stock for each day?
  21. Being incredibly new to signed comics overall. I just recently got my Secret Wars #8 signed by Mike Zek. He was at a really small convention in Virginia. It has given me the itch though for sure. His interaction with not only me but my son was beyond compare. I know I cannot expect that with all the creators but I am hopeful.
  22. What better way to use my 1st post. I would go with the Avengers, it is more iconic overall, and though the current movie universe is wrapping up the comic universe is not going anywhere. Daredevil is much less idolized in comparison, at least in my opinion.
