  1. Why The hell does the outside edge look like this on the book I just got Amazing spider-man 362

The book looks perfectly fine except that edge all the paper feathering out and also the spine looks funny if you notice the back of the comic the staples are at a weird position whats the explanation for this? This is my reader copy I bought this for 8 bucks The comic itself looks glossy and totally fine except the spine and staples and the paper coming out  have the staples been taken out and re-stapled?

  2. I bought this from ebay for 15.00 dollars because seller claimed to be a NM+ The comic itself looks and no major dings or ticks anywhere but why does the pages look like there off center ? Also look at the back it looks even the staples look weird and not normal? Where the staples removed? Why is that one where the pages all sticking out like that What you guys think is explanation for this. What grade would this be realistically ?

  3. I am not jumping on the hype train or anything I just know when to invest in certain comics and when they are on the rise.

If that Woody Harelson Carnage in Venom 2 is a blockbuster hit I see the FMV on 9.8 going to at least 650 or 750 easy. Problem with this edition is there is way to many copies so that is why it wont reach huge numbers in the FMV for a long time.

    SPIDER-MAN # 361

    9.6 3,983 3,403
    9.8 2,984 2,584

These are the total CGC 9.6 and 9.8 copies of Spider-man 361 on the market. To still cost around 400 or 350 with this much supply actually is interesting. This is not even counting the signature series and who knows many ungraded copies there are and its still selling for 78 to 90 bucks on ebay CGC 9.2.-9.6 range.

Usually with this much supply its interesting this value of this comic is this good.

Wolverine #1 FMV 9.8 its around $250 CGC slabbed and it has the same amount of copies and even though its not Wolverine first apperance its still his first solo series and wolverine has been huge star in practially every x-men movie and Hollywood has -rided wolverine for the past 10 years +

EXPLAIN THOSE NUMBERS! YOU WOULD THINK WOLVERINE BOOK WITH HOW MUCH THEY ARE USING HIM IN EVERY MOVIE FOR THAT PERIOD OF TIME THE VALUE OF THE COMIC WOULD SKY ROCKET BUT IT NEVER DID TO EXTREME NUMBERS.

    WOLVERINE #1

    9.6 3,381 2,915
    9.8 3,042 2,389

Comic book selling and trading is like stocks you try to buy them at a low price then sell them high. Keep some cheap CGC 3.5-7.5 of the same version as reader copies. I successfully had the Amazing Spider-man Omnibus vol 1 and bought it for 69.99 and sold it for 175. I also had the first Issue of Spawn origins vol 1 which I hugely regret selling off early I bought that book for 99.99 and solid it for 325 more than a year ago. The Spawn Origins Vol 1 now is even more higher price if you want to find one. (huge mistake selling this)

  5. OK to preserve the integrity of these comics whats everyone's opinion for storage ? I will most like buy mylar bags and full back boards both from E-Gerber because I heard they have the best results with the acid free test.

My concern is how to store them I have heard various people have different opinions on storage.

1)Some people  use the long or short cardboard storage boxes and say that they are fine, then others say its not because if all the comics are facing the same direction one side will be more larger than the other if you have several comics in it and can mess up the spine over time (I don't get how that would happen if comics are not lied flat and there placed straight up and its its not all crammed in) I also read that to flip flop the comics when your putting it in the box  so its evenly distributed.

    2) Never just stack comics on top of each other in a box because of the spine having to much stress to one side

    3) Are the BCW plastic storage boxes good?

    4) Never put them in Binders will mess up the spine

Basically my question is for valuable comics what is the method you guys store the books after its bagged and boarded. (I will be putting them in my closet, which I heard is a good place to put comics temperature wise)

Priced right at FMV. Fair deal.

Thanks man appreciate it~ That is all I wanted to know

I don't get why people on here just can't simply answer like you do and move on and not turn this into some rant or nonsense. Its a Thread and Board where people are free to post things and ask questions. I also don't think there is any wrong type of questions if you don't feel like answering it or think its a dumb question there are millions of other posts on here to go enjoy.

If this is your intention, to hold for value in the long run, I would buy slabbed books. Another comment, I think it is irresponsible to put a value on a raw book by taking an estimated slabbed price and subtracting out the CGC costs. This method is prone to overpaying, too many variables.  Buy high grade raw books at 9.2 Overstreet guide, maybe doubling it if you think it's a slam dunk minimum 9.4 . The most I would have paid for the 361 is 150.00 . With the addition of the other two books, it was not a terrible deal, but not a 'good' deal either. I think you paid full retail FMV.

WELL SAID SIR. Well I have the whole arc now 360-364 some collector is going to want to this even if its not in mint condition when that carnage movie comes out. I might of paid a little overprice for this but thats the risk I took and have to stick with it.

  8. I wasnt keeping it for readers just needed a good quaility buy. My criteria for a good deal is something that has value in the long run and be able to make a profit out of it even if its not slabbed down the road.  The value of comic goes up even if condition of comic degrades over time.

  9. Well the going rate for a good condition on Ebay is around 78 to 80 dollars so this looks like a decent condition hoping its 9.8 but highly doubt that maybe 9.2 or 9.4 if lucky but all the books look like in great shape. If nothing else ill just bag and board and keep in my collection

  10. Ok i guess just depends on the person I just was annoyed by her , I am not into tom boyish type of girls, never was so I guess that has to do with it. Everyone has certain people or people they cant stand thats a deal breaker in watching a show or movie.

  11. I won an auction and wanted to know if this was a good value buy or slightly pricey? I know a book is always worth what your willing to pay for it. I won this at 202.50 +7 dollars shipping.

I don't care if its 9.8 or Mint I feel this condition of the book and other 2 books are better condition than the first seller. I might hold on to these safely and hoping the carnage movie is a hit and the value skyrockets if not it's just a nice Story Arc I always wanted.

Anyway just wanted to know if you guys would pay this much for the condition the books are in from the photos and the 3 books being sold. I bought it and no matter what I am going to keep it no returns.

PRETTY MUCH I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF I OVERPAID OR JUST RIGHT OR GOT A DECENT DEAL.

Great, so if you know where to find the FMV of a slab, you can roughly determine a FMV for a raw book.

"Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

can you elaborate on this ?  Lets says GGC 9.8 FMV on Spider-Man #361 is 400 Dollars and now.......... Please show me how you go about figuring out the raw value if the raw book was 9.8 as well or close to that.

I will eventually stop asking dumb questions. :eyeroll:

If anyone cares to have the OP's Ebay usernames, send me a PM and I'll share them with you.

I've blocked the OP on Ebay, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on his posts here.  If he does start to heed the good advice given to him, I'll be happy to unblock him.

Ok, that is fine I have millions of other people to deal and buy from online. Its your choice to block me and thats totally fine with me. Happy Reading!

Seems a little uncouth to just ask the OP for his eBay username. Obviously it’s only going to start an argument and the OP will want to defend himself. There’s a lot of sellers on eBay for the OP to choose from and most likely only a small chance for him to find you. Even by chance he does it might turn out to be a simple transaction and you wouldn’t know the difference.

The OP’s behavior originally did come off as irritating but I suspect he’s been schooled by the elders around here and can continue being a regular comic customer.

I didn't get schooled but I did a learn a lot in the past few days and helpful insight and advice. You can have even have sour transactions with regular comic collectors so its nothing new.

    Yes.

In a very short period of time here, you've demonstrated that you pull the trigger on auctions and seem to ask questions later while glossing over or outright ignoring good advice on here.  Given time, I think you can become very knowledgeable within this hobby.  However, your current buying practices lead me to believe you're not someone I wish to deal with.  Perhaps in the future, but not right now.

What is your username on ebay?

Don't Worry about it ok? I am the perfect person to deal with I just Bought Another 3 Omnibus. I spend money wisely and want quality products because I also give quality items. I see nothing wrong in returning the comic. First time actually returning anything on ebay.

Why wont you give me your ebay username? so I will just avoid buying from you looks like your more about getting your money first and not making customers happy even if there is flaws in your product.

GIVE ME YOUR EBAY USERNAME TURTLE 100 % WON'T BUY FROM YOU WITH THAT TYPE OF BUSINESS ETHIC THEN YOU DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT GETTNING MY EBAY ID

I Didn't Return ebay omnibus purchases I have purchased so far, so please I don't want to deal with you.
