just cause someone has listed it for sale on amazon for $1000 doesnt mean its WORTH that much...its only worth it if someone buys it at that price...

check sold ebay listings... that shows the book is selling for $350-450 with a couple of BINs at 500 and 650 thanks to their OOP status... but as we were saying elsewhere, if the publisher decides to do a second printing, the value drops fast

I bought the book for 100 bucks in 2014 I specifically remember the price because no one would forget a book this gigantic. A value of 350-450 still a nice investment imo. I doubt anything this massive will get reprinted unless a new Conan movie comes out. Even then I don't think it will be reprinted. There isn't a huge allure to Conan so doesn't seem companies will waste money printing this enormous anvil of a book.

My most valuable is probly Thor 165 $100 book.  I might have hidden gems I am unaware of due to not going thru my boxes for many years and stuff popping in value like one time I stumbled across I had first iron fist.

There are people here own Action #1 and ASM 300 orig art etc.

so if you think you have hidden gems wouldn't it be worth the effort to dig that box out and look and see if you got anything or worth?

  3. Anyway, What is your guys current most expensive comic you have in your portfolio or one you cherish the most in your collection? Currently I have The Colossal Conan Hardcover from 2013 and its OOP and worth over 1000 on Amazon. Unfortunately I opened the shrink wrap. This was pure dumb luck buying this book because I was watching Conan with Arnold Schwarzenegger and liked the movie and wanted to  pick up the omnibus back then in 2014. Had no clue this would be this valuable.

    Check this thread out.

Thanks for the rethread but yes basically I was asking this. I just want to know what you seasoned comic collectors store your comic books in? if you dont put it in cgc cases and its not slabbed yet what do you store your comics in other than those paper thin plastic sleeves.

oh I reported it- that type of response is absolutely unnecessary.

Go read the new user forum because your questions are all very basic and covered there. Also - stop calling people names and being so aggressive with your language. This is a community and we do not take that behavior lightly.

dude relax I got a snarky response first but noted! I wasn't being aggressive

just :wishluck: that the seller is not a board member because if he puts you on the blocked user list you will find your buying ability on ebay severely curtailed.

he isn't a board member man he got no clue about comics pretty much like me lol. I paid the man its the right thing to do whether its worth the price or not. MAN UP PAY UP OR DONT BID

  7. apparently the sellers said these books are mint - or or 9.4 and above cgc grade if he had to guess but he will just be sending it in its generic plastic and cardboard cover.  What plastic hardcover is good to preserve these books for time being so I can resell them in the future. I am not going to get these slabbed just yet but needing cheap but durable covers to hold the books in.

    Thanks

Someone pls alert the mods and move this thread to comics general so it would get the attention it deserves

are you saying this in a good way or bad way

I actually felt bad for the guy and bought the comic for 19.10 cents and also just won auction for spiderman issue 361 for 63 + shipping so non slabs.

What do you guys recommened for proective covers that are cheap like plastic hardcovers to put comics in ?

I have a Near Mint copy that I'll give you for $100, if it will make you feel better about it lol:jokealert:

But seriously that is the First print, and no you didn't get ripped off.... well comparatively :foryou: you bought the that book, in the condition described, at a price you were happy to pay...

Nothing necessarily "fishy" about it (thumbsu

Ok i am just asking why the seller is selling this at such a low rate and just seems very fishy because other sellers sell around 40-50 bucks or more in the same condition. I just feel this might be some cheap edition. You think getting this for 19.10 is fair or not worth it? I don't see how the first appearance of carnage venom and spider man on the same cover is so cheap.

  10. For some reason this feels to good to be true to get the 2nd appearance of carnage and 1st comic with venom spider-man and carnage on the same cover for only $19.10 cents and its very fine condition

Is this some cheap version or the original print  or some edition I am unaware of like a knock off version or is this the  fair price I got it for $19.10  for this comic or did I get ripped off?

I am trying to get issue #361 also but price seems to high right now.

  11. I was told if the cover says the word UK anywhere this is the non US edition and less valuable but I saw this on eBay and this guy is selling for over $1500

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-AMAZING-SPIDER-MAN-361-362-363-CGC-9-8-L-K-IT-CARNMYIG/112485640181?hash=item1a30aaa7f5:g:RPEAAOSwnTxZbTzH:rk:3:pf:0

Is there variants of this or this is the original 1st print and there is no UK or USA version?

Sometimes on eBay I see issue #361 with no UK 70p

I just want to make sure I am buying the correct edition and not get screwed over. I am not looking for a slab just a TB that is the original.

Is there anyway to tell 2nd prints from just looking at the cover?
