  1. I would offer 75.00 on this FMV of a 6.5 which is slabed is 100.00 LMK if you are interested.
  2. Covid definitely started me down the collecting rabbit hole again. I have been going through lots of my old 90s books and reviewed the Marvel debacle which was the Deluxe books. From November 1994 to April 1996 there appears to be 2 versions of each of the x-men titles. The Deluxe version which has nicer interior paper for 1.95 and the regular versions for 1.50. It looks like both the direct market and the newsstand versions seem to exist for each of these, which I seem to vaguely remember. I was out of HS and going to college at the time so my comic book collecting had fallen off. Did they do Deluxe for other titles outside of x-books? I know the Newsstands are more rare than the direct, but I am wondering if there is any evidence if the normal version were ordered more because they were cheaper, or if the deluxe versions were ordered more? The Newsstand ones all appear to have the Still Only 1.50 markings on them. Has this been covered in other threads which I have been unsuccessful in finding? I love reviewing comic book history the 90s produced some much variance it is interesting to see which stuff was truly rare which may have gone under appreciated for the time period.
  3. Which episode I can go back and watch me some old L&O. Cops breaking the laws and lawyers covering for them to get the job done.
  4. Has there been any major book likes which have started incorporating the Covid-19 pandemic within the Comic Book story lines? I saw that Marvel was producing a comic called "The Vitals: True Nurse Stories" but that has been about it. I am kind of surprised with how major of an impact this has had on society that I have not seen more references of this in comic books, which typically is a pop culture snapshot of the time. Anyone have other examples, besides the Back the ComeBack logo which diamond has used which does a good job of reflecting our current events?
  5. Inquiring minds want to know! definitely not a sticker.
  6. So I just picked up a copy of this book for a buck. The only reason why I picked it up was that on the direct edition the US and CAN price was printed like it was from a dot matrix printer. When I got home and checked GCD, it looks like this was the standard printing for a price for this issue only. Can any of the great comic historians clue me in as to what happened with this issue and why it was printed so dang weird? Was there any variants which went out with no price? It seems like a rush job to fix a mistake.
  7. I have also got this happening with all of the full backs which I have recently ordered. I have been doubling them up in a mylite 2 having the concave ends face each other in order to flaten them out and add more stiffness to the board. Other than costing more, is there any disadvantage to this solution?
  8. I always love a good discussion. Many thanks to everyone who has been putting in their input on this topic.
  9. The title says it all. I know that newsstand editions were able to be sent back to publishers through the Bronze age. I am guessing this continued through the copper age for a while, but I am sure it got cut off after a while. I was guessing that at some point in the copper age, in general DC and Marvel started selling more copies to comic book stores than to Newsstands. I am wondering about when that was. I know this is a great collection of veteran collectors. I am sure people have ideas as well as references.
  10. Man that is crazy. I think you made the right move a 20% bump up in price at the time seems like a crazy thing to expect. Thanks for the history. I know a lot of LCS are running on slim margins, this hobby is a passion for most and I am concerned about what the next 2 years will look like.
  11. That is pretty wild. I love old adds for comic related stuff. It shows a great history
  12. I have been collecting comics for 30+ year and as long as I can remember the local comic shop has had books bagged and boarded for back issues. I was wondering around when did bags and boards start being made specifically for archiving comic books? What is some of this history of this trend? I know in the 90s it was already standard. When I was a young kid in the 80's I am not sure if I remember that being around. I always like looking back at comic book history.
