  1. I was passingly interested in the 387 page (the main image being a woman being hit didn't appeal that much but when I thought I was buying it at $500, I was happier!) but it was the Purves that I really wanted. My first Purves!
  2. Hi All, Thankfully, someone from Heritage reached out and they will be cancelling the sale and sharing the feedback with their web developers. Top marks for customer service here - and again, the piece I won clearly wasn't in my collecting interest so no signs of buyers remorse or anything like that, so hopefully that helped my case. Best Simon
  3. Last night I bid on my first Heritage Sunday action, and used the text reminder option on it. When I got the text I mistakenly thought the link in the text was a direct link to the auction I was interested in (there was a notice blocking the auction image on my phone) and bid on it. And bid again, and again, and then won it for what seemed like a good price. And then I realized what I had done wrong...the auction I won was for an editorial cartoon, not the Hulk page I wanted. It's clearly not something in my collecting interests from my Heritage profile and CAF gallery. Anyone have any advice/experience on how best to resolve this? So far I've sent an email to Heritage and I'm just waiting to hear back. I think I should call them, but is there someone specific that I should reach out to? Thanks!
  4. Not quite refused - more said come back to me when you've nearly completed the book. The collector was after 2 pages from me when he had about 4-6 pages of the book himself. In the 5-6 years since, I've not seen a new page from the book added, and he's not come back to me.
  5. Imagine how much Uncanny X-men 266 pages would be worth if they were by Lee or Portacio instead of a fill in artist.
  6. Those look really cool! When we eventually finish the basement I could imagine doing something like that, if it wasn't for the thought that my kids would be the main visitors to the basement and I don't want to promote the idea of getting at the contents within!
  7. Sadly the size of the flat files I just invested in rule out my 2 ft deep closets that I've been using up until now.
  8. I'm in Northeast Ohio, and on top of a hill, but yes, we have a sump pump. Simon
  9. Perfect, thanks again Chris! And the Amazon links are much appreciated! I bought both things, and the Radiohead OK computer OKNOTOK album too. for you! Simon
  10. Hey Chris, Yes, sorry, I did indeed mean a dehumidifier. I'm not sure what you mean by silica packets - what are they? Any concerns around bugs? Before my collecting time, but I recall something about silverfish eating art... Simon
  11. Storing art in a basement advice Hi Board, I have an unfinished basement and I'm wondering if it would be OK to store my art there - I just bought some flat file draws that are too big for where my art is now so they're in the basement. I'm located in Ohio, so a mild climate, and the basement is obviously the coolest part of the house. The washer/dryer are located in the basement too, as is an always-on humidifier. So at the moment, I'm seeing reasons why not to do it, but maybe I'm just overly concerned. If everything is bagged, does that change anything? Thanks! Simon
  12. as the auctions are ending tonight. Throw a bid or two at them if you're so inclined! Thanks! Simon
  13. It stuck me with some of the more recent comments here that what we're now talking about is the CoolLines/Donnelly's business modal, except for the minor detail of the art posting indicating it's for sale. Each piece has a magic number associated with it, but it's got an equally magic formula on the price (which I'm unable to wrap my head around, but lets say 5x of the price they paid/FMV). Simon
  14. I had a guy completely flip out at me when I wouldn't put a price on a piece he would periodically ask about. Flip out that he completely unloaded some pretty vile insults at me. Definitely my most weird not for sale inquiry.
  15. @SquareChaos where in Ohio are you? I'm near Cleveland.
  16. Albuquerque, Allred and Harris eBay auctions, no reserve Hi All, I listed eBay some auctions last night, all with no reserve. Two are ultra nostalgic (or not, depending on your disposition), and the other is just a couple of years old, but it's an issue 1 cover from master Rick Remender's Black Science series. Early Allred Madman art http://www.ebay.com/itm/142361049886 Tony Harris early Starman cover prelim http://www.ebay.com/itm/142361028795 Rafael Albuquerque Black Science 1 variant cover http://www.ebay.com/itm/142361040818 I may list some more goodies in the following weeks too. Thanks for looking! Simon
  17. @npasto, I have Allred Madman art that isn't on the site, so feel free to reach out to me with what you might be looking for and I'll be happy to help. I can to time payments too, if that helps. Best Simon
  18. Those Bermejo Hellblazer pieces look like prelims rather than final cover art. If they were the final image, I would have expected them to go 3x of those prices.
  19. Hi Sam, Definitely not Coollines, I got the issue from Gary Land who I think was helping Ha with art sales at the time. I did just check, and I still have a 49ers page that I might be willing to let go, if you're interested. Shoot me a message through CAF if you are. Best Simon
  20. Thanks Malvin! Flambit, I don't have any Top Ten pages on my site for sale currently, sorry! I did sell a nice page a couple of months back. You can see my Top Ten collection here: http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=21662 At one point I had the complete art for issue 10, but I bought that to break it up, not to keep it complete. The page Snyder has on eBay right now used to be mine, too, so hopefully that page sells well for the cosigner (assuming it's consigned and not a purchase). Best Simon
  21. Hi Folks, I know the cover changed hands a few years back, but does anyone have a page from Incredible Hulk 378? I'd love to add one or two to my Hulk collection. Thanks! Simon
  22. This Defenders cover conversation is quite interesting. How much does it impact value to not definitively know who drew the art? Not knowing who an inker is when multiple are credited is one thing, but not knowing the cover artists in full is a different thing entirely.
