  1. I think 3.0 is too high and I think 2.0 might be the lower side. 2.5 seems dead on the money.
  2. ^Yeah couple spine ticks. I am also 8.5-9.0 range, dunno if a press would really help those though...
  3. I take old comics like that all day! Expecially awesome ones like this. If you don't like though, grade and sell it. I think the grade will come in a bit higher than you think and you can put that towards a nicer copy.
  4. 4.0 seems right, outside chance at 4.5 If wanting to sell, it's hit and miss. Sometimes raw 4.0 sell for the same or better depending on how bidding goes.
  5. I am also of the camp that you are likely to spend money trying to improve it only to wind up at 4.5 still. Lots of minor things that a press won't fix.
  6. This Looks fine to me. Printer's crease is a manufacturing thing. You obviously want a nicer looking 9.4 so you should request lotsa pics in order to be happy.
  7. I guess your OCD is stronger than mine. I would be upset if I had like VF copies and then one was GD. That doesn't look right. But again, I am a raw fellow so I can see a 9.0 standing out amongst 8.0's Honestly though, I would just be happy to have a high grade run. Like, if I had a nice run of ASM #130-150 in 8.0 CGC graded condition and the last issue to complete the run was different, I honestly would not care.
  8. It is a small piece. I would not be surprised at all with 4.0. It could even pull a 4.5 but I think the piece gone would prevent anything more. 3.5-4.0 though from me.
  9. There is a form you can fill out but prior discussions have said that it does nothing. Keep your receipts of the fact you sent stuff to CGC and if it does have issues coming back, from what I’ve heard you just show them they were yours to begin with and they will release the items. Search the threads though I believe there is much more info on that form if you do decide to fill it out.
  10. They say life imitates art. In this case, Liefeld imitates art. He will likely puff his chest and refuse.
  11. Here is the Phantom and Voodoo Doctor. Figures are painted but decently done. Of all the miscellaneous stuff in this box this and the Aurora Hunchback are the nicest. Missing the Phantom name plate though.
  12. I lied the Hunchback is complete just need to assemble. Kinda happy about that too!
  13. I bought it. It says 1965 on the base plates for the figures. And those extra pieces in the bag were from the 1963 Hunchback Aurora figure. It’s all there in pieces without the base which is too bad but the Phantom figure is original paint and all there. I will post pics later.
  14. It is original:) I think I am going to make him an offer.
  15. Thanks, I will take a look. The pieces came in a box with other older kits from the mid 60s into the 70s but that def helps, I will see if the base pieces are in there.
  16. What is happening with that back corner? Slight bend or is it stained? Hard to tell. I would def check the notes. Spine has a lot of ticks. It is also really hard to tell because I find books in slabs tend to hide a lot of potential flaws. The colours on the cover behind the logo behind seem faded. It is possible this could get 5.5-6.0 from what I see. Which, on a book like this is worth it. I think it is worth it even to get it into a CGC slab if you do plan to sell it. I think the money spent clean, press and having them grade it will at least make it worth getting into a CGC slab even if it comes back the same grade.
  17. I'll page @Bosco685 as you seem like someone who has the potential info. Also, no dagger in hand that is just the plastic bag it is in that makes it appear that way. Photo trickery!
  18. Bumping another old thread here... Anyone know if these couple figures are from the 1960's Phantom Revell model kit? A local shop got a miscellaneous box of parts in and I am trying to help him figure out if this is old or a reproduction. It is painted very well but I cannot seem to find any photos of this old model kit where the voodoo doctor has a dagger in his left hand. There are also some like background or extra jungle type scenery pieces with it. Any help or thoughts or knowledge is much appreciated
  19. Found this rough copy. Apparently it’s a Canadian Variant? Don’t know if that’s good or bad. Presents well but a lot of tape and the pages are separating along the bottom of spine from each other.
  20. I laugh at the fact that as soon as I saw the title of the thread, I knew what it was going to show. I like the idea of leaving minimal tape overhanging. Ditto for painter's tape. I just remove and place on a picture frame near my comic shelves. I have yet to be in so much of a rush that that is impossible to do.
  21. Curious if this original Pizzazz list was ever expanded or if anyone got closer to having em all!
  22. I'll leave the MJIs to you and others. I will focus solely on National Diamonds. I am particularly keen on some I have seen with markings on them (date stamps, other weird stamps, a "star" that seems to appear on many).
  23. Yeah I have read that too, and also that people have bought on bases in the US. To me it seems both were true then. I am enjoying the reading and research today as I continue to dive into the subject!
